Fallout 4 vs Sleep

I'd gone down South to a settlement very near the glowing sea, and taken care of their problem as per the Minuteman quest. Being a nice guy (though my character's a gal), I decided it would be nice to at least provide them with some minimal defenses.

I had everything that was needed to build one machine gun turret, but I thought at least two should be required... but I didn't have enough oil. Now, I could have just fast traveled home to Sanctuary and grabbed plenty,k but I thought surely there must some oil nearby. Well, I learned that surly often doesn't cooperate (she's mean that way :) ) and I should really have somebody do my thinking for me. I couold even pay them in bottle caps, eh?

The long and the short is that many real time hours later, I had fought sentry bots, deathclaws, assaultrons, and enough supermutants to fill a marching band and still not a drop of oil.I built my turret and headed my character for home. In real time it was about 3:30 am, in game time it was more like 10pm, so I decided to have my character catch some shut-eye.

I walked into the barracks I had built, stood her beside the bed and activated it. I set the sleep timer for 8 hours, and the countdown began. 8... 7... 6... 5... ( I don't know why, but it always seems to hang for a long period of time at 5) 5... 5... 5... and then...

BOOM! a gunshot sounded in my ears making me jump, whereupon I landed on the cat's tail (who let out quite a fearsome squall) my chair came apart (not too unusual, it's just one of those things) and dumped me on the floor. If all that isn't bad enough my keyboard went flying, and didn't survive the landing. RIP cool iBuyPower keyboard... :nope:

So when I gathered my wits a bit, I looked at the monitor and my character was just walking into the lake. My keyboard still functioned in an odd fashion, and I stopped her before she got lost underwater.

It was now 8am game time and about 4am or so real time.

I guessed that I had fallen asleep waiting for the counter to finish the character's sleep time, and somehow, she managed to wander out of the barracks and off down the hill. Since I was the only one there, and she had her hunting rifle at the ready, I had to presume that she fired the shot that woke me up... Or I suppose I did... Really, how would I know?

So, I hooked up my spare keyboard and went to bed for real.

Tell, us if you please, what has happened to you from playing too far into the night? Have you had a character sleepwalk? Weird, ain't it... :D

No story besides me feeling generally sleep deprived because of this game. :)
