Fallout 4: Speculation and Suggestions # 7

Post » Sat Sep 11, 2010 8:47 am

im not sure if this has been mentioned, or done in a game before.. but what about sleepiness?

like, if youve been awake for too long, your stats go down, cause you need to sleep.. not sure if it would be too much of a pain because 1 real world minute equals 1 game hour, but it could be a nice addition, addign some challenge

The whole HTS would really add to the gameplay IMO. Doesn't have to be anything overly detailed, just give some actual value to food, water and shelter.

OK.. so its not really speculation, or a suggestion..

but looknig at the "enclave in fallout 4?" and seeing a lot of people not wanting them there, i ask this... what factions would people like to see in thr future? either antagonist or ally

As long as they're new and interesting, I'd be happy. The Talon Company and the Institute seemed interesting in F3, they should definitely be developed.

I would mind seeing big raider groups come back. Akin to the Khans and such.

I definately agree with the institute being explored.

Though i dont see the talon group being much of anything.. a band of mercs that seems to have their S#!T together somewhat militarily, but stull just a band of mercs..

Well, more people want the Enclave according to the poll, (36 yes, 32 no) as of now.

I think the Enclave are going to stay in, because of the fact that they were so popular in Fallout 3. Most people that bought FO3 did not play FO2, so the Enclave is new to them. FO3 was my first FO experience, and I am not at all sick of them, they are very interesting as a faction and would be fun to see in future fallout games.

I don't know if anyone has suggested this before, but I think FO 4 should be set in Louisiana. Think of it: the swamps have spread, a vast wetland full of mutant trees, plants and animals. giant alligators and carnivorous trees, and mutated giant crayfish. A revival of Cajun culture and the French language, the main settlement would be the "kingdom" ruled by the tyranical "Louis de Bourbon" with its main rival a revived (and weak) "Confederate States of America".

Anyway, forget that, you are probably right. :) I still like the idea of vast Louisiana swamps full of mutant alligators and trees though. :D

If Europe weren't directly attacked; then why did Moriarty Sr and Tenpenny come to America for wealth? It's been confirmed every country that could fired, and also that Britain was hit.

Is it possible we could have a new subforum for fallout 4 and New Vegas?
I dislike the idea of one single continous(?) thread about the subject and having every thread started locked.

Agreed

*But does it matter now? Why not, it'd be fun (and I'm not just saying because I live there :) ~It is actually a reason that I am considering getting point look (and the rest)... for the GECK assets).

I've got to agree that Point Lookout does look pretty swampy (and heavily forested) in the trailer. I wouldn't mind seeing that on a larger scale. :)

Lets face it we've had a game set in the Southwest, a game set in the Northwest and a game set in the capital. It's time the Southeast of the USA got a look in. :D

Any of those first three settings would be good IMO. :)

I would leave New York to FO 5. Properly recreating a huge city with skyscraqers etc will be a resource hog and would require better graphics cards and more memory than current computers can provide.

the european nations were reduced to a state of nothing before the great wareven happened.. all of their resources were expended in the resorce wars, and then gas ran out-so there wasnt even a payoff for them-im guessing this meant that there were littel oppertunities in those reigons.. .. fast forward 200 years after the great war, i would imagine people with the where-with-all might go to the place where there was a possibility of economy-the US.. if Vault-Tecs claims were true, people would be emerging from them to re-populate.. if youre a savvy businessman, you want to get set up before that happens... When they get let out, youre ready for buisness on the ground floor of the rebirth of society

Concrete proof Europe was hit:

"Allistair Tenpenny came to the Capital Wasteland from Great Britain to seek his fortune, so that alone tells you that the U.K. was also hit in the war. And if he came to U.S. to succeed, that says a lot about how screwed up Europe must be. So we just allude, a little bit, to the state of the rest of the world. We like to leave a lot to the players' imaginations, and somebody like Tenpenny serves as a catalyst for those thoughts." - Emil Pagliarul

Anyway, I doubt Britain was hit that much in the Resource Wars, its island status means land battles on it are rare.

the battles may not have been in brittian, but rather in the middle east over the remaining amounts of oil.

reading below i imagine it wasnt necessarily a physical war on the brittish isles, but all of europe becoming destitue with in-fighting becoming the reality

"The Euro-Middle Eastern War ends as the oil fields in the Middle East run dry. There is no longer a goal in the conflict, and both sides are reduced almost to ruin.
The European Commonwealth dissolves into quarreling nation states, fighting over the remaining resources"

Land battles maybe, but UK is one huge aircraft carrier and missile platform. I'd think it'd be as splattered as the US.

My point exactly. Land battles would be rare, but when the nuclear war starts....KA-BOOM.

i still think (briefly) before the great war that there as a lot of fighting between the isles and other parts of europe, after the resource wars but before the dust settled....

It's unlikely that Europe was hit by direct Chinese nuclear strikes as most of the USA's alliances seem to have fallen apart by 2077; after all the USA had already invaded Canada, its closest ally! That would not have stopped Europe being affected by fallout, and as already stated, the Resource Wars had lead to to the collapse of the FO world's equivalent of the European Union with subsequent wars between the European nations.

My feeling would be that since 200 years have passed since the War, Europe is probably a lot further down the road to recovery than the former USA.
