Fallout 4 Speculation, Ideas and Suggestions # 260

This thread is so that we can keep all the discussion, rumors and speculation in one place.
This topic is for a friendly discussion of ideas and suggestions for Fallout 4.

We all have opinions about what the next game should have and should not have. Each of us may express that opinion freely. There are points we agree on and points we do not agree on. This means that people are going to disagree with you on some things. Accept that and move on. No need to beat your point so far into the ground that no one wants to look at it any more.

At moderator discretion, threads about specific and distinct topics as they relate to FO4 and the rest of the Fallout series may be acceptable in the Fallout Series forum. General idea/suggestion topics for a future Fallout game will either be closed, or moved to this one.
This thread should be used to discuss items you'd like to see in a future game, gameplay tweaks, quest ideas, things you hope are not in the next game and so on. If you want to discuss major issues, use a separate topic - such as the discussion about adding multi-player or co-op play, which already has a thread. Please search first to see if there is an active/recent thread on a particular topic.

Something to note. Discussions of Child Killing is not allowed on these boards. Don't even bring it up in this thread. It won't happen in any future game from Bethesda, so there is no reason to even discuss it. If you post about this subject, you may be Warned and or Banned from the boards for doing so.

This is also not a thread to discuss current or past Fallout Games, other than to mention an aspect of the game you want to see included, or not included, in a future Fallout game.

Fun fact.

2299 is only 2 years after the "Afterword" section from the original version of the Fallout 3 game guide.

That aren't screenshots of the game and what I meant was how the hell

That comment by AwesomePossum could judge that by looking at artwork....

I saw someone in the other thread ask where I got the screens from, so I'll explain again.

Me and some other people accessed the fallout4.com website as it came online briefly. On this website was the boxart, the screen of the garage and an embedded video (probably the teaser). although the video was set to private a few brief screens showed before full access was blocked.

EDIT: These are the screens I mentioned

It's not really "artwork", it looks like a really high render of something in-game.

Most likely, you can see aliasing on the edges on several of the smaller props.

If it was artwork, it wouldn't have that.

I'm hoping the PC version of Fallout 4 uses Nvidia's PhysX physics engine with the GameWorks libraries like Hairworks.

Real time rendered hair in 3D with physics moving in the wind like in The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt would be absolutely amazing for Fallout 4.

Also hoping that armor and weapons degradation is added back and no regenerative health.

Regen health would make me puke, hope that's not going to happen, I have my doubts. :yuck:

This is what I am scared of Bethesda Game Studios added regenerative health to The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim. Health should regenerate when you eat, sleep, rest or use Med-X or whatever.

Probably worth mentioning that it was Bethesda that added the degradation mechanic to the Fallout series.

Didn't hairworks cause such massive performance problems with the Witcher 3, even with people WITH Nvidia cards, that Nvidia has to rush out like 2 new drivers just to make it barely work?

Not to mention all the problems it caused with AMD cards...... which make us a rather large % of computers.

I doubt Bethesda would spend time on something as trivial as that given the massive performance problems it causes.

I was talking about The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim. Knowing Bethesda Game Studios they would copy some features of The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim and put into Fallout 4.

I didn't have any problems with it. But I also didn't ever pay notice if the whole thing actually made any real difference while playing.

Nope I am running Hairworks at 60FPS after patch 1.01 and I tried it on 2 of my PC's one has a AMD graphics card and another has a Nvidia graphics card. Hairworks works on AMD graphic cards.

Much better. Wonder if it'll just be Quantum or will there be some new variant?

Yep

https://www.google.com/search?q=witcher+3+hairworks+problems&ie=utf-8&oe=utf-8

Several easily findable news articles about it.

The same situation occurred with AMD's hair physics tech for Tomb Raider IIRC, except it was Nvidia users who were inconvenienced at the time.

I'm prepared.

Shied, this will not be Skyrim in style. Hopefully not in gameplay style either. BGS's still learning.

I agree that it's nice that Todd acknowledged the problems they have.

No Quantum. New variant. I'm hoping for New Nuka Cola.
