Fallout 4 Speculation, Ideas and Suggestions # 261

Post » Thu Jun 04, 2015 2:58 am

Even if the PC is voiced, I'm betting you will have the option to turn it off and still be able to hear the NPC speak. As to the Gerald comment above, I too have held off buying Witcher because I can't customize the character. To me the game looks like it might be set 20 or so years after FO3, so I expect canon events explained in this sequel.

Yeah I and some other people noticed the resemblance right away. The Player Character (PC) looks almost identical to that leak.

Saw it earlier...the dad is our dad and the protag is the son who leaves the vault shortly after the war.

Just a prediction, don't drop kick me :P

One thing I do want to know however...was the trailer PC, PS4, or Xbox One?

I don't remember the leak being god-awful, no, but you don't care.

There doesn't seem to be much reason to believe that the guy at the end of the trailer is the protagonist. There wasn't one in Skyrim and the character in that trailer also "spoke". I would really like a little bit more technology to be around, but still have most places be uninhabited and dangerous. NV had the gun runners, so you know there is some post-war manufacturing, no reason to think vertibirds or power armor are faction exclusive with this sequel.

I'm gonna pray that this is just a coincidence because they both look like fairly generic white male protagonists.

My gut feeling and this is predictions/speculation but I'm thinking

this will take place after FO3 and new vegas in the year 2299. Takes place in Commonwealth, (1st expansion New York City maybe wink wink)

The Geck from Fallout 3 will be important and help colonize stuff but not completely

Lyons BOS expanded northward, might be other BOS groups from west or some that split off from lyons originally after the Pitt. They will have an argument over some tech in the institute

You awake in Vault 111 and don't remember anything, you then leave to find your memory, find yourself in the middle of a turf war and that's it for right now with the limited info we have.

Deathclaws will be inspired by New Vegas (We need Todd's opinion on that game) and will be deadly early on in the game.

Charisma is still going to be useless, I can dream it will actually be good. :D

Finally the trailer is out?

They're taking their sweet time with this Fallout. At least it means TES is closer.

That leak was AWFUL.

Everybody laughed at it cause it seemed so bad that not even Bethesda would write that plot.

But now...? That looks like the same guy, and the cryogenic sleep chamber would explain elements of the trailer, as well as why a vault is just now opening when others like it (Vault 19 for example) have already opened. Explains the strange design of the vault door, too.

The trailer at the end did not mention PlayStation 3 (PS3) and Xbox 360 at all, but this is a trailer and who knows how many months from getting released for sale Fallout 4 is. The graphics can still improve until then.

The graphics are less than I hoped. For much of the trailer, I was was trying hard to figure out whether that was Fallout 3 footage being displayed, as if it was about to be compared to how much better Fallout 4 looks... but it turns out that it was all Fallout 4 footage.

I am also digging the color palate. It doesn't seem to be saturated with green, or orange, like 3 or NV, respectively.

When was the last time you played a bethesda game with a voiced player? How do you know it will be so bad?

As for the the baby, please, that's bs and you know it. There was a wall of fire and dust coming towards them, you don't survive that because of a "genetic mutation".

And sure, there are thousands of people in TW3, but not rendered at the same time.

That is the Bunker Hill Monument.

Obelisks have been around for a day or two now. They are found all over the world.

If it takes place shortly after the war, and not 200 years or more after. I guess that could make sense for there to be super mutants? New Vegas makes it sound like they are dying out.

The thing on the surface is not the vault door.

The trailer shows a perfectly normal Fo3/NV style vault door that leads out into some sort of mechanical looking area.

The thing on the surface is likely an elevator door made in the same style as the vault doors.

Guns are easy. Any faction with the resources can make guns. Vertibirds are Enclave and possibly NCR and BoS exclusive. The blueprints for them are a closely guarded secret. Power armor was so advanced that all the research of pre-war China couldn't recreate it. Anyone short of the Enclave being able to craft power armor would be bull.

Something about the trailer upon rewatching it is bothering me: Why is there a Vertibird seen in the Pre-War sequence when we were told it was still in prototype phase during 2077?

Because its perhaps a prototype being flown?

The vertibirds look different then the ones in Fo3/NV.

I mean a "main character". Which is probably not what other people mean when they say protagonist.

Desperate times calls for desperate measures, so maybe they pushed the prototypes out before being fully done.
