Fallout 4 Speculation, Ideas and Suggestions # 262

Post » Thu Nov 26, 2015 12:11 pm

1. Results everyone knew were going to happen... much like 99% of post-ending cutscene reveals it was stuff we already knew was going to happen had we payed any attention to the game.

2. Yes, the difference is elapsed time, a factor that should be taken into consideration.

3. So, just like every other Fallout game sans NV? For all the complaints about Fallout 3 not being true to the originals, I find it funny that in the one instance it is, people complain.

4. Again... so what? Them doing those things for you in no way means you have to like them, their ideals, or anything else about them. You worked with them only because you had to, since the Enclave had no reason to let you join them. This is your chance to remove what you might find to be an overbearing and cancerous plague on the good of the wasteland.

-In the time it takes for the vertibrird to land, Sarah to get out, talk to you, for you to get in, it to fly off, land, and yu get out, you could make it out in time. I know, I've actually tested to see if it was possible, and it is. Also, you bombed it because the BoS was fighting a battle of DISTRACTION outside, one they might not win, and thus, the remaining Enclave forces could then turn regroup, kill you, retake the thing, and use it again, had you not bombed it. That the BoS happens to win the battle outside is entirely coincidental. This is point blank explained to you as part of your mission breifing before you leave. But who actually listens to the dialog in RPGs, right?

I hope Fo4 has none of these.

I agree with you but what if you don't like the voice actors

NV does, but that wasn't made by Bethesda.

I wouldn't mind having the player voiced but I'd want to be able to customize it so that would mean even more voice actors.

My Predictions:

  • Fallout 4 will launch this fall.
  • Fallout 4 will have much more customization than FO3 or FO:NV.
  • Fallout 4 will have a voiced character but you will have the selection of voices.
  • Fallout 4 will have in depth physical character customs (Hair and Facial Hair Options, Body Type(Buff, Skinny, Fat), Eye Color, Race, etc.)
  • Fallout 4 will be 1.5x the size of New Vegas.
  • Fallout 4 will have a progressive and impacting story line. (Meaning actions you do in the game effect the outcome.)
  • Fallout 4 will have 4 DLC Packs.
  • Fallout 4 will be Game of the Year
  • Fallout 4 will take up too much of my time
  • Fallout 4 will cause me to be a fat couch potato with no life.

DX11, only? Man, I've played Inquisition with my 9800gt and I was hoping that I would probably do so with Fallout 4. Guess I'll need to wait, huh?

That is a risk, of course. However, I find that things you didn't initially like will grow on you over time and I'm sure a good voice actor could make it work for most people.

Problem is then, as previously pointed out, that those cost money. So is it worth it, budget wise, and what aspects of the game would suffer in return for voice acting?

Iron Sights wasn't bad, It does help with shooting.

There is also Gun customization in FO but it's fairly limited.

Strong face that one guy has... We must TAKE IT! It must have a DT of 800

You're supposed to use a rifle, not a hammer.

To some of us, modding our game is a vital part of the experience. How are modders supposed to recreate the protagonist voice for the custom dialogue in quest mods and the like?

And wouldn't it be strange to have a protagonist voice in first person perspective? Even worse would be dialogue causing a switch to a third person 'cut scene' like the Mass Effect games.

That's obviously a placeholder.

Many stores do that.

Sorry, when I say FPS mechanics I'm strictly reffering to the feel. How the gun aims, how it feels when you look around. Bethesda IMO makes it feel clunky, rough, and inaccurate. I don't know how else I can't explain it. I'm strictly reffering to the feel, nothing else.

You pretty much need iron sights at this point if you're going to have FPP. Like most games with shooter elements you likely won't be forced to use them either, but if they aren't present the game will feel very dated which will turn off the casual market. Unfortunately with the cost of developing games increasing due to lengthened development times and increased hardware performance the casual market is very much a necessary evil for a AAA game.

I could do without the voice acting though. You would think with next-gen tech that they could at least get motion-capture done to make movements look more real. The dog is super stiff in it's motion.

Still super-stoked though!!

1- And yet, we see no evidence that they will happen in BS. The dlc did nothing but remove the ending and throw us back into the game with some added water barrels. Most NPCs outside the BoS don't even acknowledge the change. You originally stated that it showed us the effects of our actions. I disagree. The ending slide shows us the effects that matter. The dlc only shows us the immediate response to what we did, which is completely meaningless.
2- So the fact that it practically insta-kills the player on consumption, but doesn't change the game world despite wide-scale distribution should be ignored? Again, we see actual results with the slides. The dlc gives us the impression that the FEV was a joke.
3- So you're arguing that it's a good thing that the one thing taken from older games was one of their weaknesses? Btw, you could side with the Master in Fallout. It ended the game, as it should have.
4- So what? Because it's stupid evil. There is very little reason for a same LW to not like Lyons and his BoS. They are saints who work to save the Capital Wasteland and do little wrong. Their ideals are "help and protect the weak". BS makes little narrative sense if you don't like them.
-Really? You've actually tested that? Sorry if I find that to be a little far fetched. Regardless of what you've done, the LW definitely has no way of knowing that it is possible. And I could alms of guarantee you that unless you you there like an idiot without answering Sarah Lyons, the missiles do drop faster than it would reasonably take I escape the place.

FO's gun play feels more like Half-Life and Counter-Strike than CoD.

Maybe it also has to do with the First person animation for idling with a gun out? I saw a vid of someone's NV and the animation for shooting, recoil, idle, etc. where different from vanilla. It did seem more like it's from CoD. I also remember the player using an animation replacer for their guns
