Fallout 4 Speculation, Ideas and Suggestions # 262

This thread is so that we can keep all the discussion, rumors and speculation in one place.
This topic is for a friendly discussion of ideas and suggestions for Fallout 4.

We all have opinions about what the next game should have and should not have. Each of us may express that opinion freely. There are points we agree on and points we do not agree on. This means that people are going to disagree with you on some things. Accept that and move on. No need to beat your point so far into the ground that no one wants to look at it any more.

At moderator discretion, threads about specific and distinct topics as they relate to FO4 and the rest of the Fallout series may be acceptable in the Fallout Series forum. General idea/suggestion topics for a future Fallout game will either be closed, or moved to this one.
This thread should be used to discuss items you'd like to see in a future game, gameplay tweaks, quest ideas, things you hope are not in the next game and so on. If you want to discuss major issues, use a separate topic - such as the discussion about adding multi-player or co-op play, which already has a thread. Please search first to see if there is an active/recent thread on a particular topic.

Something to note. Discussions of Child Killing is not allowed on these boards. Don't even bring it up in this thread. It won't happen in any future game from Bethesda, so there is no reason to even discuss it. If you post about this subject, you may be Warned and or Banned from the boards for doing so.

This is also not a thread to discuss current or past Fallout Games, other than to mention an aspect of the game you want to see included, or not included, in a future Fallout Game.

So this is in Boston? I heard people mention it. I tried to look for landmarks in the trailer.

Well, these threads are burning fast, and there's only been a teaser trailer :lmao:

And despite my constant "Murder Hobo Adventures" and "needs a billion mods" [censored], i'd be lying if i said that trailer did nothing for me

At 1:51, you can see an eyebot, also an enlistment poster and "Swatters Custom Baseball ..." sign. The store has a large Baseball bat with nails and "Swatters" written on it and a guy out front in a baseball outfit.

Any speculation on that eyebot? I'd bet that there were a lot of those floating around when the Enclave fell. It'd be cool if they became sort of valuable in the wasteland as potential companions and portable radios.

Did anyone else think the mysterious guy walking near the Memory Den was Mister Burke for a second?

Upon close inspection, the recruitment poster says "Your country needs you".

I was about to say it's probably a pre-war poster but those metal shacks that it's stuck on are likely post-apocalypse.

Eyebots existed before the war as per the Repcon museum in NV showing one.

Seeing that golden domed building, i believe it's Massachusetts State house, reminds me of the 'last of us'. It's a location in that game, and thus the shots with that gave me a real TLOU feel.

So, I didn't manage to respond to people:

Supermutants of the East Coast are a different breed than those on the West Coast. Given that they were infesting the Capital Wasteland since 2078, there is the possibility that they split off north and migrated.

(Possum)

The East Coast is densely urbanized, meaning lots of supplies and resources to go around. Plus, advanced technology would not have deteriorated that much by (say) 2097, as opposed to 2297, meaning it's logical you'd see advanced vehicles that would normally be gone.

EDIT:

Also, it seems the Kotaku leak was legit:

True. Forgot about that. Were they commonplace? Seems like they could've been. Besides ED-E and those at the Divide, they do not seem all that advanced.

Well, if the graphics aren't exactly cutting edge, maybe that means a greater emphasis was put on world/story/character development and whatnot. But I agree with those that like the look..the colors remind me a bit of F1, 2.

Ohh yes I agree.

I just think that if it took place close enough to after the war that we could have been alive before the war, and we're not some decrepit 90 year old at the time of the game, we would still be in the "basically everyone is just a raider and maybe there's a settlement of a few shacks" stage of development. This looks like its been built over a fairly long period of time.

Hell, according to Raul, some places like Tuscon never really made it out of that stage even nearly 200 years after the war. At least in terms of it being a raider hellhole.

Probably not commonplace, but not super rare either.

Bunker Hill Monument. USS Constitution (ship) and museum are in the trailer.

Definitely Boston.

I also like the cities, the color scheme and the world looks alive.

Btw, anyone notice that gate coming up? Looks like the citadel.

I think I just noticed what may be a logo on the Vertibird's wing at http://www.youtube.com/watch?t=108&v=GE2BkLqMef4#t=1m48s.

Nevermind, it's just a part of the Vertibird.

Also one of the sign says" ...Bay Center", maybe South Bay Center in Boston.

I don't see why everyone is upset about the graphics. When has Bethesda ever released a game with the best looking graphics.

Personally I'm hyped to know it won't be on ps3 and Xbox 360. This will allow them to push next gen consoles more and not be held back.

Bethesda has always been behind in the graphics department. People have never praised their past games because they were running on the latest and greatest graphic engines.

Yep. I for sure wasn't expecting graphics like the division or the witcher, and I'm fine with it. From what I can see in the trailer it looks fine.

Mediocre is pushing it. It's always nice, but never the best out there.

Fallout 4 looks nice enough. If you're a graphics junkie, you can find another game. Plenty of games that are all eye candy and no substance out there.

From the You Tube comments:

It's too bright and has too much color.

Fallout 3 Trailer:

Not enough color

Huh...
