Fallout 4 Speculation Suggestions and Ideas #153

Post » Sun Nov 17, 2013 8:49 pm

But who says that there are no people who speak french in the Fallout universe? What if many french speaking people entered Vault 74A when the great war started, and french slowly became the language spoken there? It could also be a crazy experiment from the Enclave.

Very true. Maybe some new posts will arise that connect everything? Probably not. Still it remains... Waiting for the VGAs is the best bet for an official, sensible announcement.

If that's the case, then why did the overseer speak English over the Vault's loudspeakers?

He kinda sounded like he had an accent. Maybe there's still a minority of english speaking people in Vault 74A.

Then why would he speak English in a emergency situation, if everybody didn't speak English?

What about the Survivalist's Rifle that has Arret written on the stock? Granted he was stationed in Canada, but there is also a Bridgeport in Toronto which is only a stone's throw away from Buffalo. That could explain the use of French, and it would also mean we can possible expect Canada to make its Fallout debut--as well as New York.

This just seems like a lot of effort to go into something that's really not been featured in the fallout universe in the slightest, or even really hinted at.

yeah, there is some Fallout history in Canada... and it eventually became U.S territory after it's annexation.

People on Reddit are trying to hack the twitter. If it isn't connected they are really going all out making a fake hacking game that is just like in game. https://twitter.com/12072299

And ircr in the timeline there was enough time for Vault-Tec to potentially build a few vaults in Canada, and since Canada is bilingual that would mean Vault 74A would use both English and French. :/ EDIT: Or if Vault 74 is in Buffalo it would still work because once again Buffalo is just a short boat ride away.

Perhaps the vault was an experiment regarding multiculturalism in the sense of multiple tongues. English is the universal language, and the one that the majority of people are most likely to understand, which is why an emergency broadcast would require the English language, to reach out to as many people as possible.

I think part of the hoax is vault 74a even existing as canon. It was a test vault that was canceled in Fallout New Vegas that is inaccessible.

Although, shining light on it, it might be an easter egg that points to a new Fallout game that was placed in a secret place in the PC version to hint at vault 74a being of importance.

This quote from the fallout wiki:

"Vault 74 is one of the Vault-Tec vaults. The vault was not mentioned in any game and appears only in the game files of Fallout: New Vegas.

It was originally made by Bethesda Softworks developers for the official Fallout 3 G.E.C.K. tutorials. Despite not actually appearing in the game file of Fallout 3, it strangely appears as cut content in the game files of Fallout: New Vegas, although is only accessible through the use of the console commands."
...
"The vault comes with a simple quest called Exploring Vault 74. You start the quest by simply entering the vault (by the use of console commands) and you complete the quest by taking the Vault 74a overseer's log:
Transcript
Data Log #10.44.78
The Vault has been breached.
There was not enough power to level Five!
God have mercy on our souls."
Could mean absolutely nothing but it is a little strange that it appeared in Fallout New Vegas.

That could also be possible.

Btw, there's a post on twitter from the 12072299 guy that says "EMLEN PHYSICK // ?". The Emlen Physick Estate is a house museum in Cape May, New Jersey.

Hold on now, that is unfair.. The fallout universe has only been set in basically California and Washington D.C. .. Those have no relation to France in anyway and without a shred of doubt I can honestly say that whoever made a game set in a french area like New Orleans would most definitely place some sort of connection to the french language and or culture.. I am thinking that a main villain probably would be a french guy and perhaps there is a french puritan faction in New Orleans.. Would be pretty cool.. Curious who is on the other side of the great bull? Well a french faction would be neat..

I still think canada is more likely than this, Did the U.S put vaults in Canada after it's annexation?

We don't know if there are Vaults in Canada, but once again the timeline does allow for them to be built in time for the great war. Maybe Vault 74 is divided into A and B segments where A is English speakers and B is French speakers? An extremely unlikely idea but an idea all the same.

This whole french isn't allowed in the fallout universe and would mess it up is such a crazy discussion it's unbelievable. Sorry to say but that's simply redicolous.

Btw. for me is the tumbler surely fake to complicated for viral marketing, it's to early for details about the game (I expect the announcement of an announcement and not game details from this viral), east and west coast mixed up in a strange way, using the tutorial vault.... all that jazz. No need to speculate about it.

http://fallout.wikia.com/wiki/Timeline

Read that. It is the ENTIRE Fallout universe and does not have any French emphasized at all. And it is incredibly detailed.

I would love any of those cities, especially Buffalo because it would allow easy DLC for parts of New York. Detroit would also be super cool.

I honestly don't care about the man speaking french, wherever it is, it's obviously in the united States (Or canada?) if he is in a vault, since vaults were only built in America and maybe Canada for all we know... throwing the whole franchise in central europe would be too much anyways, and I'm sure Bethesda knows that...

Sorry you are wrong here. Even if we are talking about France and not the language.

I would love to see a game about the resource wars.

There are Vaults in Canada.

However, all that crap is fake.

I starting to think the countdown is real and reveal coming to VGA, but Twitter and whatever else is fake.
