Fallout 4 Speculation Suggestions and Ideas #160

Post » Sun Nov 24, 2013 5:50 pm

Do we have any info on canon endings for Fallout 3, by the way? It would make speculating a fair bit easier. Also all of that fresh water from project purity is quite interesting. I can see the wastelanders (Under a BoS government/empire) bringing life back to the wastes and turning it into a agricultural centre (Although I think if that oasis part was true that would be the biggest ingredient in a reclamation of the capital wasteland)

I don't the legion would get that far. They would have To deal with the MWBoS and other factions along the way.

I'm gonna guess that's your hometown ;)

Now about this vault situation.......

fair enough.. there are some cold deserts, too. a lot of tundra is actually cold desert. a desert just refers to the small amount of rainfall, and not the temp
sorry.. im getting OT. haha

Well... I don't know.

We haven't tested a world wide nuclear winter yet haven't we? There can be a tons of things that can keep the planet in an Ice Age, like the magnetic field got messed up, the ozone layer got a boost from less pollution, etc...

Not if they came east along the 40 which is the main interstate running through their capital.

having your hometown in the game would in fact be cool. I live in the DC area, and one of the things that impressed me most about FO3 was how accurate they were with the area. towns, cities, even roads were correct. they renamed a lot of stuff, especially military bases, but just about everything was spot on. for me, it increased the immersion by a factor of 1000

my point was it would create a serious continuity problem if they did that. none of the other fallout games included winter conditions. I mean, if it's Boston, not hard to justify snow. but i wouldn't use that nuclear winter line as confirmation that the game will include a snowy setting.

Could be that the whole eastern seaboard was unable to put up a effective response to both the empires of the legion and the MWBoS. Lyon's BoS with their power armour and The Insitute with possibly combat androids are the only one I can think of that have enough wonder weapons to push back a legion expansion.

There's also the whole thing of if the legion is going to survive Caesar's death or not. A lot of people in New Vegas didn't seem to think so, but the whole process of wiping away tribal identities and replacing them with the Legion should make most of the legion loyal to the legion itself after the leader, right?

There are people every time a new video game or console comes out who buy it only so they can smash it infront of people who are waiting in line for their own. Money and time are hardly issues when people stand to get the satisfaction of pissing off millions of fans.

If this is real or not isn't for me to say, but factors like time and money can't be taken as solid evidence. It's shaky at best, at worst grasping for straws. Zenimax not asking for the sight to be taken down, the same Zenimax who got done fighting over that whole Fallout MMO thing not to long ago, is a lot more interesting to me. Those guys are twitchy at the best of times, so it's strange.

if your talking about small amounts of time an money, then yes. and no one is saying this is conformation, but with every new page, new info; it becomes less and less likely that it's a hoax.

oh, and never seen anybody buy a game and then smash it for some bizarre satisfaction. but even at that, your talking about $50 bucks. that somebody is buying the bandwith for all these pages, and making audio clips just to piss people off, and not getting shut down by Bethesda is a bit of a stretch.

I tend to think of the MWBoS as being a lot farther north than CL would really run into. So i'm not sure they pose a threat to CL expansion, to the East at least.

Now, what happens when they get to the east coast? i dunno.. I would suspect that the institute would have them outgunned. But they may or may not have beaten the NV NCR.... so... ?

as for Caesars death.... Caesar is primarily a title. Could be anyone that takes his place.
Much can change in 20 years, including a senate back in AZ finding a figure to head their faction.

Without Caesar the Legion is, may I say... [censored]. Lanius isn't a leader, he's a lunatic. He won't last long.

Caesar's cabinet and commanders are going to cannibalize each other (literally) and destroy the Legion from the inside out. I believe it was Ulysses during some conversation in Lonesome Road that foreshadowed the fall of the Legion.

About the years 2247... if you look back 5 years to 2242... The Institute created Harkness and Armitage as their most advanced androids to date.

Now on to the vaults.

In Fallout 3 and NV, there were six vaults in both the DC and Vegas metro areas. DC is the 7th largest metro in America while Vegas is the 31st. That means at least 24 metros areas in America should have six vaults, which is 144 vaults. While smaller, minor metros have at least 1 (Vault 8 in Northern Nevada so basically Reno in Vault 12 Bakersfield). There are 40 "major" metros in America (However, some are actually smaller than minor metros, alas New Orleans and Buffalo). If the 40 all had six vaults in there areas, that would be 240 vaults. But thats not including minor metros that might have only 1. So unless some cities got the short end of the stick, there are at least 240+ vaults. Maybe the smaller major metros got fewer than six. I'll probably just wait until Fallout 4 and see how many vaults that metro area has to see if this theory of mine could be credible or not.

I still think it all fake, or it real and all the leaked info is gibberish.

I think it dumb to give away game setting. Takes away part of the fun of the official reveal.

Not sure where exactly you can find the canon endings. You may have luck on the wiki. However, I was just using my own judgement on the endings because: the ending of Fallout 3 involves starting the purifier either way, whether or not you contaminated it with FEV. I really doubt the FEV ending would be canon, as all-out evil endings usually tend not to be. All I remember about Oasis is that the canon involves Harold getting killed off. Not sure if his gift spreads into the wastes or not.

Agriculture is definitely going to spread to CW though. All that fresh water and oxygen should really help out the East Coast environment.

with the west coast already done along with the the southwest and mid Atlantic,m there aren't really too many places left. besides, releasing new England as the setting hardly tells us much. that allows them to use Boston, NY, and a host of other places.

no, there's an ending where you don't start the purifier. if you just stand there and do nothing it gives you an ending like the one where you let whats her name do it.

If Caesar groomed a succesor other than Lanius and had his critera for that person being a great political leader rather than someone who is a one man army, then I could see the legion surviving. But its been a while since ive looked at the legion part of the lore, so I am not too clear on most of the details.

Also the 2242 date is interesting, since it was 2277 that we saw the androids in Fallout 3, and now it is (proably) 2299. Could there be some sort of stagnation in the insitutes android development? Maybe on purpose so that the androids aren't powerful enough to completely take control of the insitute and its leadership?

Any way Fallout 4 turns out, I think a android rebellion is going to be a heavy part of it.

I think van buren was the title for FO3 before they called it FO3. why he thinks that's such a big deal is beyond me

Yeah, I know, it was Interplay's FO3. But yeah, he seems to be waaay to excited over the prospect of van buren, for whatever reason.
