Fallout 4 Speculation Suggestions and Ideas #163

We had the Tesla Cannon, but Not once did I see the Tesla Pistol, which he did actually produce,I wonder why they skipped it ...but yes some more energy weapons...maybe some humor like ones a reatomizer(much like the mabba jack staff) just cause it would be a hoot to turn a supermutant into a chicken or something else.

Not just radiation, but psychological trauma/pre-mental illness.

High radiation + Mental trauma = Feral

Just look at Jason Bright. He was pretty much a few clicks from turning into a full-fledged Glowing One. But because of his faith, and dedication to his people, he remained stable.

To my knowledge I don't belive it was outright expressd

ButI'd assume that they did eat, mayb e not actually need it but at the same time it might have been just like being human where you truly had to eat to survve,as more ghuls turned feral and food became more scarce its given that they may have developed a taste for flesh, whether it be animal or human.

how badly damage are a ghouls reproductive organs? IOW: can they reproduce? (im guessing not) My guess is that when all ghouls are gone, the only way for there to become more ghouls is for there to be a radiation causing factor, such as the legions weopon used at camp searchlight.

In Fallout: Van Buren at the Reservation location they were experimenting with the idea of Born Ghouls. Since Van Buren isn't canon and can only be used as flavor material or for a look into what the developers at Black Isle had in mind for Fallouts future at the time it isn't canon. So apart from that, no. They cannot reproduce. Unless Reservation or something like it comes up in a later Fallout game.

There are people who want to become ghouls though and there are new ghouls created every day across the world of Fallout, but the chances of turning into one and retaining your sanity after realizing what you've become is slim.

I'd like to see a NEW version of the PIP-BOY...... In (3FGO3 we had the 3000,in NV it was the 3001/3 Billion(just a cosmetic differance) So it seems logica to give us a new version maybe with some new features of some sort.

They've been stated [in Fallout 2] as being all of them sterile.

I'd be surprised to see them not introduce a new Pip Boy. Realistically, they'll want to make the UI look and feel different than the last two modern Fallout games and that starts with the Pip Boy.

I say jump straight to the Pip Boy 4000 series since Fallout 1-2 used the 2000 and 3-NV used the 3000.

But it [unfortunately] doesn't mean anything; details seem to change on a whim now. That same conversation also plainly explains that the ghouls only come from the city of Necropolis, they are dying out, and that they are the only generation [caused by the unique events at the Necropolis].

But we see them in Fallout 3 ~anyway.

** It should be mentioned that even the new devs at Black Isle planned to break canon ~rewrite it~ and have a Ghoul reservation, with what they called "Born Ghouls"... that shouldn't have been possible.

That game did not ship though, so it never happened.

*** Ah I see Gab posted this first.

If they do opt for a new Pip-Boy, it doesn't have jump straight to a 4000 model. During the LW's birthday party in Fallout 3 Stanley (I think that's his name) mentions that your Pip-Boy is the "3000A" and that it isn't as flashy as other models, but it will do. There could be other versions of the 3000 out there as well as the 2000. I think it would be better if they let us pick which model we want to use, be it the 2000, 3000A, or some other model.

Indeed, that I would like... but they've already changed it so that the Pipboy has become some mandatory electronic shackle.

** I never encountered Ceasar in NV, so I've not seen how the pipboy 3000 was handled... was the player allowed to swap them?

**I would hope for the http://i271.photobucket.com/albums/jj125/Gizmojunk/Pipboy2000_by_Equilerex.jpg of the Pipboy 2000 as an option.

Fallout 3's "It's biometricly sealed" mumbo-jumbo was thrown out in New Vegas. Right at the beginning actually, when Doc Mitchel gives you his old one, and later in the game where (if you a quest a certain way) you can get the http://fallout.wikia.com/wiki/Pimp-Boy_3_Billion from Mick & Ralph's.

That's good, I hope they keep that in FO4/5/6.

**Somebody should mod a paper notebook as an optional pipboy. :chaos:

(Only for inventory sake... with the option that a Pipboy could be stolen; the PC would be unable to play holo-tapes until they recovered their pipboy or got a new one.)

Different model maybe? 3000b instead of 3000a?

Yeah, that's true. I would just imagine a 4000 model having an entirely new interface more so than any of the previous models we haven't seen, giving Bethesda a reason to throw in a new UI and maybe even one that we can change ourselves (like HUD options/toggles).

If we we're able to choose our Pip Boy out of a number of different models that would be cool. Although, lore wise you apparently can't take them off so I don't know if being able to change to the Pimp Boy at will in NV was a retcon on Obsidian's part, an oversight, or just a gameplay mechanic.

i want to see some pre war military bases again, there were not any in NV that i remember other than the BOS ocupied teritory wich was an obvious place for a "secret base". I want to see better secret bases, that are well hidden, and have tons of things to explore inside, sort of like fort constantine, but with harder to find access codes for certain rooms. Fort Constantine x 10. Almost reminds me of Wario Land 4 (I think it was) where you needed a certain amount of items to unlock a special area (the final boss and final levels).

AFAIK the pipboy was only a wrist mounted PDA; a convenience only, not a forced monitoring device. Lore-wise ... Bethesda invented that as a kludge because they opted to make the pipboy the inventory/character menu ~~which it never was before. In the rest of the series, the Pipboy was an electronic journal/map/tape reader; that would have made a lot of sense in FO3... but instead we got a combined interface that also allowed the player to freely access stimpacks and drugs during combat. :bonk: [In the rest of the series inventory was separate, and not free when in combat.]

It was a (much needed) retcon by Obsidian, otherwise there would be no conceivable way to give you a Pip-Boy, and keep you without a back story. Also, that idiot who claims to be from Vault 21 in the begging of Honest Hearts has one, albeit broken.

Pretty much, the best way to chalk-up the whole "it can never be removed thing" would to just have it be some Vault 101 propaganda.

Thought of another trait.

Human Observation

You never felt like you belonged but from your solitude you've studied human behavior.

(In dialogue you can see the expression of characters ("[Happy] Thank you so much for helping me with those bandits!" "[Lying] No, I didn't see anything, I was busy shooting Jet" "[Resentful] I didn't need you to help me...") but because you've been anti-social yourself your communication skills are bad. The expressions will sometimes open up new dialogue for you as you can see through some peoples [censored], but you suffer -3 CHA for dialogue purposes.)

That should be a perk... Actually that IS a perk in Fallout 1 ~http://fallout.gamepedia.com/Empathy.

(I can see this is a different take on it, but it seems essentially the same except for the CHA penalty.)

I wonder, if they demand on the wrist mounted PIP boy, if it would be possible from them to make it http://www2.hawaii.edu/~ztomasze/ics491/bobshot.jpg. And leave the inventory to wholly separate window.

That appeared in "Mostly Harmless". The character "Random" had a surgically implanted PDA screen in her arm. She could even watch movies on it.

*I would prefer a split interface with a different inventory window than the character sheet; that way they could control inventory access during combat, but freely allow character sheet access.
