Fallout 4 Speculation Suggestions and Ideas #165

Post » Thu Nov 28, 2013 11:29 pm

Even in our transistor fueled world, thermionic valves are still in use - microwave ovens, high power radio (and microwave) transmitters, radar, electric guitar amplifiers and particle accelerators (Large Hadron Collider). It stands to reason in a world where usage of vacuum tubes was common, there would have been a lot of developement towards smaller and more efficient designs.

Spoiler

Superior Immunity

You gain +20% to rad resistance as well as poison resistance and disease resistance, however, when you do manage to get poisoned, diseased or reach a higher level of radiation poisoning the effects will be more severe.

The Weak Find A Way

You're not a figher, but a runner! Your dodge chance and running speed are increased by 15% but your health increase per level is cut in half.

Heavy Hitter

Your Melee (blunt) and Unarmed attacks are devastating, but your finesse is quite lacking. Any blunt or unarmed attacks have gain +5 in damage and have a +5% knockdown chance, but your critical multiplier is always reduced to 0.5. (damage and knockdown chance increases once every 10 levels by 5 in each statistic (Intended for a lvl 30 cap so that your total increase is +15 in damage and +15 knockdown.)

Tribal Autonomy

Your body is twisted by the way you've used herbal remedies for most of your life. Tribal remedies of any kind are twice as effective but your body rejects medicine and will get nauseous from such treatment.

Lucky?

Your chances of stumbling upon treasures are great, however you're prone to losing your possessions more often. The loot tables are in your favor and you will more often find better medicine, alternative ammo and more caps though you attract thieves like a magnet. Better watch your back!

Hemophobia

Disgusting blood... You can't stand the sight of it. Whenever you use weapons that are prone to causing blood to spill you get uncomfortable and lose accurcy and attack speed, but when using weapons that won't shed blood you unleash your full potential. (-10% accurcy in VATS (+0.2 spread) and -10% attack speed when using weapons that can cause blood to spill. +10% accurcy (-0.2 spread) and +10% attack speed when using weapons that won't shed blood) ((Great trait for pacifists))

Scopophobia

You hate being watched and you hate risking yourself being exposed. Your performance in view of other NPC's or in areas with a light-source exposing you is decreased but when not seen and especially when in the dark you are your enemies worst nightmare.

Can't Buy Me Skin

You have a tendency to eat your caps, but thanks to a strange mutation your skin hardens from the absorbed metal.

(Not sure about that one, sounds really silly...)

Arrogant, Though Self Conscious

Whenever you are healthy you feel like you're the king of the world, there is a certain confidence emitting from you which influences other people. However, when you aren't in a good shape you get very uncomfortable and start to question your image.

(Whenever you are >90% in health you gain +2 CHA and +2 INT for dialogue purposes only but whenever you are 90%< in health your CHA and INT is reduced by 2 for all purposes.)

Hard To Distinguish

Your face is hard to remember, faction reputation increases and decreases less than normally. (Good for players who expect to play around with different factions and don't want their reputation to sink too low from one mistake, but also means they will need to work harder at increasing their reputation with factions they do like.)

Easy To Love, Easy To Hate

People who love you are kinder towards you, people who you've crossed despise you more than normally. Services and merchant prices are affected by your reputation with the faction and your overall wasteland reputation. (for each 100 rep in either direction the prices will alter by 5%, so -400 with a faction means +20% price cost whereas +1000 with a faction means -50% cost, some merchants are neutral and will not be affected by faction reputation but will instead be affected by wasteland reputation (a replacement to Karma))

Brutal Nature

Your attacks have a tendency to be extraordinarily brutal. Enemies morale will drop for every brutal death animation you cause, though friendly NPC's who witness such acts of brutality will have a hard time trusting you. (Enemies and friendly NPCs will run for their life or become less effective in combat if you cause too many death animations, some friendly NPCs will be scarred by witnessing your brutality and might stop talking to you as they fear you too much to want to get involved with anything you do)

Class Clown

Kids and light-hearted individuals love your antics and are easier to warm up to, though serious people with little time for jokes easily tire of your presence. (Allows new dialogue options and alters other base dialogue, rewards, merchant prices, services, quest solutions and even companion options will be affected by this trait in good ways and in bad ways.) (It does mean that you can't pick Child At Heart as a perk later though as you already have those dialogue options thanks to this trait)

Brains Over Brawn
You've always applied your skills in less physical tasks which has made you smarter but also weaker physically.
(+2 skill points per level +2INT for dialogue purposes, -50 carry weight -5 unarmed/melee damage +1 STR weapon requirement)

I Can Take It
Your body is exceptionally strong and has left you arrogant in your abilities to take a punch.
(You get +100HP +5 DT and +5% DR to all resistance statistics, however, you refuse to wear an armor (You cannot equip an armor 'at all', your character refuses to))

One On One (Perk, not a trait)
You have a fighting aura, whenever you enter a fistfight it will be between you and your opponent, no one else.
(This perk allows you to enter unarmed combat with any friendly NPC without everyone else going ballistic on you, however, unarmed means unarmed; No weapons of 'any' kind. NPC's go knockout at 15% health.)

Napalm In The Morning
Being a fire enthusiast you're exceptionally skilled at fire-based weapons, however it has left it's mark on you..
(You get +2DAM to any fire-based weapon (remember that they are DPS weapons so +2DAM is a lot), fires burn for an additional 2 seconds, you are 10% faster at reloading and equipping fire-based weapons. But because of your scars and somehow permanent stench your CHA is reduced by 2 and any dialogue skills are capped at 90. (cannot pick Trait if your CHA is 2 or less.)) (as an additional bonus, generic NPC's will comment on how much you stink.)

Groove Is In My Heart
You're a dancer, and whenever there's a tune around your legs really show it!
(Whenever music is playing your character's dodge chance is increased by 10% and you get +1AGI however it also means that music will make enemies more easily aware of your presence, whenever music isn't playing your character might start whistling)

Overdramatic Body
Your body can't stand being anything less than at full satisfaction!
(This Trait is like Logan's Loophole, it is a trait who's benefits and negatives rely on how the players view it. It affects how drastic the effects of being hungry, thirsty and tired are as well as how fast their meters decrease after meeting the first milestone. This means that after you gain +200 Hunger so that you meet the first tier your hunger meter will go up twice as fast as before, and after 400 it will go up trice as fast, at 600 four times as fast and at 800 five times as fast. This is for people who want hardcoe Mode to be exceptionally brutal when it comes to the hunger, thirst and sleep meters.)

I'm Taking You With Me
You'll be damned if you're going to die alone!
(More of a comical trait really, when you reach 10% health and you stand close to an enemy you will activate a suicide bomb (which is a quest object and cannot be dropped, it is given to you at the start of the game if you choose this trait) which will kill you and (hopefully) the enemies close to you.)

Automatic Speed Ball

It's like you're on another level when it comes to SMG's, your attack speed, reload speed and equip speed are all increased by 15% but you suffer a +0.2 in spread for all ranged weapons.

Quick Draw
You're a Gunslinger among Gunslingers! Your equip speed for one handed firearms is increased by 35%, you get +10% attack speed and there is no camera wobble for when equipping a weapon but you suffer a +0.15 spread and -10% VATS accurcy for 5 seconds after drawing your weapon.
(The +10% attack speed, +0.15 spread and -10% VATS accurcy only applies for 5 seconds after the weapon is drawn)

Steady Pace
Your eyes are alert and your weapon is held with caution but you're also cautious when you move.
(+2 PER for the purpose of enemy radar (if you've bought it) and VATS accurcy +20% dodge chance for traps and -15% running speed when weapon is equipped.) (All effects are only active when a weapon is equipped)

Bouncin'
Your jump height rivals a cartoon kangaroo, had there been a Wasteland Olympics you'd win with ease, however you're still only human... Your jump height is increased by 250%, however you will still suffer fall damage and a +20% bonus fall damage at that.

The Cursed Charm
Your luck at gambling is astonoshing, but for some reason the rest of your life is [censored]... You gain +3 Luck for gambling purposes but you lose -2 Luck for critical failure purposes.

The Drunken Monk
You fight best when unable to comprehend what you're even doing! Whenever you drink alcohol all fighting abilities are increased by 10% (attack speed, equip speed, damage, critical chance, critical damage) but the effects of alcoholism are more negative than usual.
(Works best if when you drink alcohol the screen gets a bit blurry and wobbly)

The Lover (You can pick an alternate for gay characters)
You're the smoothest guy/gal in the desert. For dialogue purposes you get +4 CHA for talking to people of the opposite/same six, however, you don't feel as comfortable attacking those in combat and your combat abilities will suffer for it, -15% accurcy in VATS -20% damage.

Already up at 27 traits. Lots.

We will probably know after VGX 2013 (7.12.2013). I don't think we have any chance to know something definitive earlier.

Enjoy the speculation fun in the meantime :) .

I want to see the wanamingo return along with some extra terrestrial encounters (i want them to be scary ones). Extra terrestrial can also mean from another dimension or other realm of existence (possibly outside of time interacting with our universe).

Yeah that shouldn't happen, they're extinct. Wannamingos were a genetically created "animal" which means that they don't have a form of reproductive system and after a certain amount of time has passed they simply fall over and die. There was one queen and she was killed and her eggs were crushed by The Chosen One and the remaining Wannamingos all died out by the end of Fallout 2.

So no, they should not be brought back. Bethesda has made enough inconsistencies with the lore as it is. They shouldn't make more inconsistencies because Wannamingos are cool. (Because while they are a really cool monster and I love their design I don't want the lore to be screwed over because I love them, they're dead and should stay that way) Besides, there are other mutants we could explore, like the Gehennas and Molechs from the Van Buren design documents. Those are some creepy mutants.

It would be neat, but they [FO2 devs] said (perhaps unofficially) that the wanamingos weren't aliens (my guess is to avoid any remote chance of a lawsuit from 20th century fox), and IIRRC they added that they had been military weapons not unlike the deathclaws, but that they had an engineered (to be short) lifespan that was almost used up in FO2.

No, it's a reference towards their design which was influenced by the xenomorphs from the Alien franchise and also because the people of the wasteland have no idea what the hell they are since they aren't the slightest bit recognizable as any animal they've seen before. So no knowing what they were wastelanders started calling them "aliens" because in their lack of knowledge of their origin that was the most suitable explanation for them in their eyes.

Only "aliens" in Fallout are the greys we see in Mothership Zeta, and those aren't canon.

That's FO3 though... Also there is a WWL encounter in NV; both mistakes IMO.

I do hope that in in the official [numbered] games, that they only aliens in the game are the unprovable kind.

And if we do see aliens or other worldly beings ide like to see something more abstract than what we expect out of aliens from fallout. Fallout aliens (only seen from bethesdas perspective) are corny (but i guess thats to fit the vibe of fallout). The way i think of "aliens" are beings from another realm outside of time and there only way to interact with time and space (where we all exist) is by taking the form of life and to interact with our universe for what ever reason (assuming reason would even exist outside out realm), but thats just me. I think aliens in a lot of movies and games are just plain corny. I would rather see aliens invade our world from another dimension, not our own universe.

Everyone points out this isn't canon or that isn't canon....

News Flash Bethesda owns it, they can make the whole first games all nonexisntat and just start fresh and say:

WHAT WE JUST DID IS FACT,ITS CANON,IT HAPPENED ITS THERE,GET OVER IT.

and personally I partly want them to just start fresh go to the beginning and re do everything, give us some actual base to start on,rebuild everything the lore, canon,EVERYTHING.(talk to the orignal creators sure get what they have and go from there.)

the thing with another dimension, like you are wanting would be a parrel universe which would be a good idea, maybe an alternate future where the bombs never fell or something like that.

You know I think I'm willing to bet that Fallout 4 wont actually be called Fallout 4. I really think that since New Vegas was called New Vegas, I think they might do something like this now. I know they called it Fallout 3 but maybe just because they wanted to make sure everyone knew it was a continuation of the old series. Now that everyone knows that Fallout is now being continued I could guess that Bethesda might do something like Fallout(Insert location here) and at the top Fallout 4.

Of course this is just me speculating, in fact instead of saying willing to bet, I say I'm more 50/50 now.

I doubt that New Vegas wasn't made by the same team as Fallout 3.

the alternate universe is another thing ( I didnt think of that, good idea). But I was thinking on something like this http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Sc6EUeOrEbA, supose the nazis really did get some help from other worldly beings, if there were to be another VIllian (possible not needed in anymore fallout games) in a fallout game secretly getting help from another from another dimension (alternate reality) for whatever reason, not necessarily a dimension that exists in time and space either, possibly beyond that. But i guess that going really far of "cannon" or whatever the hell that means. Maybe i should start making mods instead of chatting here.. . .

Yeah I know that, but Bethesda only made one Fallout game. Who's to say they wont switch it up now.

They may follow what they've done with the Elder Scrolls (I dont want Fallout to be an Elder Scrolls copy BTW) like The Elder Scrolls 5: Skyrim

Aliens not only belong, but they fit perfectly with Fallout's vibe. We can suggest that the entirety of Mothership Zeta is up for debate. Fine.

But "Greys" being completely omitted? Sorry, you're wrong. They exist. They are canon. And you can expect to find another Alien weapon being studied in the Institute.

You want to pretend they don't exist? Then you'll have to "mod" them out of your game, and Fallout 4 when it comes out.

canon means what was there orginally, what is stated as fact or LORE in any given universe, the problem with fallout cannon is that it really only had the basics defined the rest was mostly left open for "players" to create there own, much like say a Dungeon & Dragons game, since Chris Avalon had stated back in 02/03,I believe, that he had more attention being made for Fallout being a Pen/Paper game more then a computer game......but that aside,I just want to see a complete refresh of fallout.

I think it would be a sad day if that becomes fact. MZ is DLC, all previous alien appearances were either mistaken for alien, or unexplained ~and also possibly mistaken for alien.
FO1 (and 2 I suppose), had the advantage that the crash sites were impossible to return to, and could never be proven. The PC was in harsh climes and possibly dehydrated ~or just in a really weird part of the wastes. It's not warranted, but is technically possible anyway, that the alien looking craft [with the velvet Elvis painting in it] just maybe, might, could have been a military hoax.
*Although the game winks at the player several times in the pre FO3 series ~it's not supposed to be so scrutinized.
(Sad as it makes me to accept it... NV was a spin-off.)

If aliens are indeed in... this better fits the vibe: http://i271.photobucket.com/albums/jj125/Gizmojunk/mz03Bcopy.jpg :chaos:

Could the Greys in Fallout be Ancient Aliens? and more importantly Fallout 4 should have Giorgio Tsoukalos's hair style in the character creator...because Aliens!

They don't fit with Fallout, They fit with the 50s theme, but they don't fit the main theme of "War never changes", since MZ alluded to the fact that they started the Great War. With that implication I don't think Bethesda will put any alien [censored] in FO4. It'd be pretty pathetic if they did.
