Nah, this Survivor thing got people too hyped up. Bethesda will have to do something even more extreme than this ARG in order to get their fans fired up and I don't think they'll be able to. I could even imagine that people will start bashing Bethesda for not doing anything against the site and letting them waste time for nothing if it turns out to be a hoax.

If it is a hoax many there was some reason they couldn't take it down. Maybe it is for something Fallout related but not for Fallout 4. Maybe it is for some mod and Bethesda as far as I am aware doesn't go after mod makers.

But we will find out.

As for getting people hyped, I am sure all they have to do is have a bunch or people dressed up in power armour in some wasteland setting at an award show and people will be on the hype train yet again.

If it is real then this forum is about to become insainly busy and there will be about a thousand new members today alone.

How many mods are active on the forums today? I know they don't work for Bethesda... but wouldn't they get some kind of heads up? As in "Hey guys the forums are about to be flooded "

As styles said getting people hyped up for more Fallout isn't a hard thing but I don't know what could stop Bethesda from taking the site down the, the only thing I can think of is that it takes 2 weeks for the site to be taken down if Bethesda files a complaint against the use of the vault-tec logo but unless there is complying with Bethesda's demands of copyright etc it's a two week wait before they can take action afaik.

I think it is legit. The registrar for the domain is by all accounts zenimax and follows all the signs that it was legitimately registered. The site is also running on nginx, the same that gamesas.com uses. I'd say it's legit. Only a few days will tell..

If it is real, it could just mean they're updating it.

Could be undergoing an update of some magnitude. Complete with concept art maybe?

Someone a few threads back said that there's a million ways for Bethesda to take the site down and that just Beth reporting it or threatening them would be enough for whoever's doing this to back down.

It is a bit too elaborate for just "something" Fallout related. There is a possibility that it's for a mod, and if it is then it would have to be a very [censored] major one.

Also, I don't know about you or anybody else, but after this, people dressed up in power armor won't get me aboard the hype train. This entire site gets people to discuss it: the earlier rumors, its fakeness, its realness, solving the ARG, Fallout lore, etc.. A few clowns in cardboard power armor surrounding Todd Howard on a stage with action movie soundtrack by Inon Zur blasting in the background won't have this effect.

Strangely, but I get a feeli'n that they will simply congratulate us all with the first day of winter taday....and nothing more...the other timer did state 9 days left till SOMETHING, that is what we should keep our eyes peeled to.
