You mean they announce at the VGX with a short trailer and then at the end of the countdown they're going to release the gameplay trailer?

It creates a nice big [censored]storm. Would we be talking about it if it was only a trailer? They hyped Dragonborn with a trailer, barely anyone cared about it, except for the Beth forums. Look at this [censored], not just on here, but on Reddit, and even [censored] from what I've heard.

And Bethesda will have a PR problem on their hands for letting it happen.

Because so many game devs nowadays spam the Redacted out of us with every media outlet they can conjure up to promote their games, Bethesda on the other hand is much more old school.

They prefer to keep their mouths shut about what they work on and have very little in the way of leaked information, again just like Bungie.

Really? Its to promote hype. Many companies have been doing this type of thing for YEARS now. It isn't new.

Okay. Regardless of whether this site is real or not. BGS will announce a new Fallout, if not at the VGX then they will announce it early next year. There is no way they are going to stray away from getting a game out at least within 3 years of their last. It would really kill them financially if they didnt. So I'm not excited for the new Fallout because of this site, I'm excited because if history reigns true then the next Fallout is upon us.

Fake or not, I'm glad this website has pulled me back in to the Fallout universe.

At least the hype it's creating shows Bethesda how much people want this game and still get excited about it which is a huge positive for them.

I can see how it would generate more discussion cause there's always those guys that get a rise out of knowing more and being more clued in on such things than their friends, so it turns into a "OH JA WELL DID YOU KNO IF YOU SET UR IP TO RUSSIAN AND OPEN THE SITE FROM OPERA BROWSER U HEAR BUTCHER PETE" kind of hype that gets people talking.

My point was more that it still seems like an awfully cruel way to hype people, as someone else put it, "dangling a carrot on a string." I wonder if there wouldn't be an equally efficient form of publicity that isn't "YO DAWG I HEARD YOU LIKE COUNTDOWNS SO I PUT A COUNTDOWN IN UR COUNTDOWN SO YOU CAN ANXIOUSLY WAIT WHILE YOU ANXIOUSLY WAIT."
