Strangely enough, the Russian site is still up. http://thesurvivor2299.ru/
yeah well the problem is that the free publicity could quickly turn into a Tyler Durden film edit with a big fat C in everyone's face and that wouldn't be good free publicity
Wow we must have posted a second apart lol

if the survivor site is just one massive troll then that troll has the patience of a saint and the cunning of a Sith Master
Even if the site's a hoax, I believe an announcement will be soon.
guys i speak the inclish on the site it says
"obamacare is half half the fallout 4"
to the rubes who are saying 'why would a multi-million dolla company not spend a ton of money on a real advert campaign? therefore its a fakery hoax.'
lets assume that the announcement is in a few days. It will probably be an entire year, at least, before the game is released. It will probably be a few months after announcement that the real advertising campaign kicks off.
so why would they spend much money at all for a teaser site just for the announcement? Maybe b/c they have a crap ton of extra capital from Skyrim. Maybe they are gauging their market audience, seeing how much interest they can generate, or maybe they are pinging the market to see who's still interested, given that its been awhile since fallout 3/new vegas.
It looks like one guy making a website, which is exactly what you would expect if this were some viral marketing campaign or a hoax. So there's not a good way to tell what it is. but the arguments for this being a hoax on the first few pages of this thread are just terrible. at least when this started there were people that had a scrap of reason about them.
Well there is going to be two camps on this one (either from VGX or the countdown runs out).
If it's a hoax it will be the "I told you so"'s.
If it's real it will be the "I knew it was real the whole time"ers.
Then the losing side will plead there excuses why they believed one way or the other.
Real or not, it's been entertaining and finely stirred up some Fallout 4 (or whatever it's called) discussion.
Also the reddit reading has given one hell of a geography lesson about Boston and surrounding area.
The first rule about FO4 publicity is that there is no FO4 publicity
BTW I love the change to the avatar Gizmo
Maybe in spaces mostly dedicated to A types, like here who just want to post their speculation for the N-teenth time ....Though, I will ask this. Have more people started posting here? and just how fast have we been burning through these threads?
Seems to be making people salivate to me.
"This is a conspiracy, that's what it is." no reports on major video game news websites about the one Survivor countdown coming and going.
What if... what if... It's a hoax today, but it's real tomorrow... Huh, huh?
Bethesda, seeing how much traffic the hoax website has received, decided to stealthily sue the guy over copyright infringement (I mean, there's the Vault Tec logo RIGHT THERE) and take over the site, expanding on what was already there. Or they can just pay the hoaxer for the site and to be quiet... Save them the effort to start from scratch.
Well one thing I do want from Fallout 4 is no more one console timed release exclusives.
I know it's going to happen because who can say no to a large pile of money (and I think it will be Sony this time)...but a man can dream.
law suits end up in public record even if settled out of court
no xbox first in virtually everything and then lazily wedged in on Sony and PC
