Then pay the hoaxer 500 bucks for the site and another 200 bucks in Denny's coupons so he can keep quiet about it.

Oh god no. Looking at the next gen consoles and PC it looks like the lowest is Xbox One, so they will get the DLC first, based on past history.
the "next gen" systems are closer than ever in architecture this time even me being a Xbot there is no reason for anything other than simultaneous release
And lose millions of sales? They would be stupid to blindly agree to that.
The intricacy of the codes had me intriqued for a while, but this countdown to absolutely nothing just goes against everything that a legit marketing campaign ought to be doing at this point, not to mention it underscores the lack of resources that the people doing this have. I always thought the lazy web design was troubling, and a continued lack of any background, HTML5/Flash etc, especially after a countdown, is inexcuseable at this point.
And as someone pointed out, it has failed to garner any attention on major gaming news websites. Zenimax would ensure that it retained enough legimacy to attract their attention - in fact the statistics for the site are generally underwhelming. It receives on average about 20 thousand (non-unique) visitors a day, which is good for a hoax but far less than a teaser appearing on IGN, Gamespot, Escapist etc would draw in.
So even if it's legit, it's actually a bit of failure. Sure, Reddit has gone mad, but the internet at large couldn't give half a [censored] anymore.
They did this with https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Caligari_Corporation... Makers of an amazing 3d modeling package... They assimilated them, then updated the modeler with an export for Virtual Earth; made the $800 software suddenly free; stripped out support for its commercial Vray plugin, and then killed the company outright.
not really. if it's arbitrated there's usually a gag order involved.
that's what I'm thinking. and on top of that, traffic has slowed considerably. just look at this place. a new post was appearing every couple seconds. now, not even close. what kind of marketing campaign would want hype to slow down? you build hype, not let things cool down. this would have been there best possible time for a high publicity reveal. anything else they do will be smaller because they've now lost the people who are pissed because it was huge nothing, if it were real that is. conversely, if it were real, and they had released some art, or even just something to prove it was real..................the whole [censored] gaming world, this site included, would be going crazy.
this is either a hoax, or a colossal exercise in stupidity and how not to market a product.
About the big gaming sites: Sadly we are in a time where information about new games are a merchandise and embargos exists. If VGX will be a real thing for the announcement. I don't think anyone of the named one's would report.
No, that's not how it works. They offer financial incentives for either timed exclusives or complete exclusives, but they can't threaten to actually block a game simply because it was released on a competing system as well. They could get taken to court for that, and in any event they would lose far more than they would gain.
In fact I imagine most developers would boycott them from the get-go if they did that, which would mean that in no time they'd cease to be the biggest single console market - especially now in the midst of a new generation, when the PS4 could very well outsell it even without the above hypothetical occurring.
You misunderstand. Teasers like this exist for one purpose: hype. Now, if interest in the teaser site is waning - or worse, most people, including major news sites, are calling it bogus, then that's bad news. When you have a countdown that no one bothers to report on, that's very bad news. That means the teaser isn't reaching anything close to the normal amount of market 'saturation' - ie. most people simply aren't following it.
Ordinarily, a publisher/developer would ensure that the campaign seemed legitimate and intersting enough to get reported on when there was some kind of countdown or major update - often that means they send a discrete 'heads-up' to those news sites, and sometimes they make backroom deals such as "if you cover event this now, we'll make sure to get you in when we begin previewing the game later." It's how the industry works - places like IGN, Gamespot and so on provide the viewers.
That's very different to letting IGN spill the beans and say "Yes we know Fallout 4 exists"; it just means that Zenimax will ensure - either by speaking with the media outlets directly, or simply not doing misleading things like registering under GoDaddy and having no clear evidence that a major studio has worked on the site, ie. with concept art or something that takes more than 10 minutes to do - that major news attention is picqued. At this time it isn't, and therefore we can say that even if the teaser is legitimate, it has failed to achieve its primary task. It should be getting far, far, far more hits and reportings on news sites than it actually is.
Well, the 360 was their largest market last generation. I feel PS4 will be Bethesda's new biggest market while Xbox One users focus more & more on Skype and watching sports instead of actual games.
why in the world would you think that? there's no reason to think MS is moving backwards with the newest xbox.
I didn't rule out that Xbox One users won't play games entirely but a big slice of them either won't or will casually play games. Half of the 360's usage was dedicated to Netflix and other apps, not games. With Xbox One advertising it's sole purpose as the one that does it all (entertainment-centered) it's only going to be used more and more for entertainment. They get a lot of revenue for non-gaming services and they've put a lot of money into non-gaming features for the Xbox One.
But this is getting off-topic. TheSurvivor2299 seems to be getting more updates than ever.
OK, either Survivor2299 is a hoax or a really bad official site that isn't so much building hype but frustrating fans IMO.
Until I see a trailer on the Bethesda website, everything is a hoax IMO from here on out...
i obviously hope its real. but seriously if you think about it... this [censored] has gone on long enough. If Beth was gonna release something via teaser site they would've teased us a week at most, then released a teaser trailer with a small scripted intro clip and then the classic fallout title image with a 4 at the end of it this time. But its been 2 weeks almost and we still have another week until VGA's. 3 whole weeks of of morse codes, ciphers, and transmissions is completely ridiculous. Of course this isn't real... but it does kind of worry me that Beth hasn't discredited this though, and dont give me that BS about free publicity. Cause if your a business, you dont want other people (who are probably unauthorized to do so) advertising your work, no matter how much hype its causing or attention its getting. Because that attention can be very easily turned into negativity towards them. Its way to risky to do something as dumb as that.
yes, but what your assuming is that people are going to buy 2 consoles, and most wont. when they first come out, and for the foreseeable future, they're going to run $400 or more. most people will only buy one. why do you think MS want's to incorporate so much into it? they have plenty of market research showing that few people will buy both until the price comes down considerably.
We are seriously filling these threads up way to dfast, those poor moderators,*pats all on the back*
Anyways, so hs the new Message be decoded and is there a new moress codes as well?

That stuff on survivor sounds like something I would do to mess with your minds.
It's doing it's job , I have to finally have to take a look at the site. I'm advertising it right now.
Nice concept, The Beth developers do read your posts once in a while I bet. The forum is a mainline to their target dem. It's funny that the site would glitch just like there games. It would be like a inside joke between us. The code is kind of cheesy, ect. Well FO is kind of like that. It kind of makes me wonder.
