there is a wealth of information gathered from the site and elsewhere and the most popular rebuttals are "IT’S AMATEURISH", "THEY DIDN'T DO THIS WITH THE LAST GAME" and "WHY TURN DOWN FREE HYPE”
Fine, it doesn't matter. Bethesda isn't some company founded in a garage. They have reputation, and they're acting on their well earned credits.
There is NOTHING for Beth to lose here. So maybe when the fat cats shareholders come a'knockin', you can just simply say: "What are you talking about? We were just simply building the website, and whole coding thing is uh... Steve's ideas to make something fun for the fans... No, we don't need to make any stupid ARG... This is Fallout 4, for [censored]'s sake! What? You don't like it? Well too bad! There's the door, help yourself out ... Just don't come crawling back next year when our profits go off the roof! "
That's the idea of it. As it is in live the simplest answer is mostly the wrong one .
Good chance it's fake but despite that even the best artist they could find couldn't replicate the late Mr. Adamowicz work no matter how hard they tried.
Adrian Carmack might be about as close as you could get but even then it wouldn't look the same.
I believe that the site is still under construction, so that's why it is shoddily made.
I believe it. I'm still hoping. If you don't then... ok, I guess...
Quite bored now as the site is either down or nothing has changed
Oh well. i'll wait until the 11th. I guess then we will know for sure.
night everyone!
That concept art COULD be real, and we really can't go on previous styles here because Adam is sadly in Sovngarde now. I don't really see anything overtly bad with that art, although I still take it with a grian of salt.
If it is real, its quite interesting how green that is. Fallout 3's desolate and sandy wasteland is in quite a sharp contrast to that. It could be that Oasis and Harold have spread across most of the east coast, and that the other side of that is that its now some sort of horrifying overgrown dark jungle.
Or maybe its just a bit of the old retcon from Fallout 3 looking more like a hot desert to a overgrown sort of thing in Boston.
I know that. What I mean is that the ARG is something they gave the go-ahead on, but refused to finance it, so it's just a couple of people doing it. The publisher knows that a hype campaign like Skyrim's will work just fine, and this at least sparks up interest for FO4, so they won't have to worry about that part.
No one has proof either way. I am not saying it is fake, I am not saying it's real. But for people to say "there's overwhelming proof" is laughable.
You know what is overwhelming proof. Bethesda announcing Fallout 4. Until then anything else is pure speculation one way or the other.
To bash people for being skeptical is just silly.
Yeah I'm out as well. Gonna have to wait for a few days for all this to die down so we can actually go back to discuss SUGGESTIONS for the game...
They are private, but I believe Zenimax has quite a few big name investors involved. Look at their Wikipedia page for more info. The site is probably a hoax, but VGX is only a few days away, we should get something then.
Oh come on you can't leave now it could be announced any minute now
Not what i meant, Not all companies are bottom line shareholding cogs that can't do anything without the shareholders say so. Gaming in general isn't like every other fortune 500 company,
sure there are some that definitely do that and EA is the worst of them all at it. But the whole bottom line shareholders controlling content with a magnifying glass just isn't the case for
most dev's, and from what I have seen Zenimax is pretty lenient as long as you don't tank your budget. Regardless as Tagaziel stated they are privately owned, another reason they aren't a
bunch of Redacted who only care about money when considering the development of a game.
I seriously doubt we'll hear a FO4 announcement before the VGA's and if we don't hear that announcement at the VGA's, then it'll probably be Quakecon 2014. Only big title for that event right now will be ESO and any other published softworks title. That would be the perfect time to announce it if they don't do it at the VGA's and 2014 is quickly becoming crowded with big titles, 2015 is looking more likely by the day.
I suspect KVNGR REV ALPHA means the cipher is keyed vigenére with reverse alphabet, but in order to decode it two keywords are needed, an alphabet key and separate passphrase.
(Just my own guessing.)
Even if you remove shareholders from the equation they can't just on a whim throw their money around at every little brain fart they might have at any given moment. They still have to plan things out, have meeting, budgets, reports and so on. At the end of the day they have to make sure they don't blow their budget and when the Tax man comes knocking they can explain where the money went.
Nothing is just done on a whim, at least not for a company as big and experienced as Bethesda.
They're BUILDING the site. The whole coding thing is Bob's idea to make something fun for the fans.
Just imagine this whole thing is like... Bethesda is building a rifle range with laser rifle and mirvs and stuff... But while they're building it, they're also handling out waterguns to the people who are waiting outside, so we can squirt ourselves with it. SQUIRT SQUIRT ... Just remember to wear hardhats.
You can be a real meanie sometimes, Styles...
Ahh who am I kidding? I can't leave.
Like, what does this mean? KVNGR REV ALPHA PPS VT PIZ UHMYLPVOQ CM XHWMZP. NBJB SPI'F BYQS QT D'Y BYFGEOB FI VQDYL MAQ. -NGQHT 5120-
Nuclear winter has come
Why is there a new thread made ever time this reaches like 8 or so pages? wouldn't it make sense just to have stickied mega thread?
You know that I am not a native speaker. So no need to get snippy. English has the bad habbit to use several meanings in one word.
That's your personal opinion and prognosis of the campaign. I think it serves it's purpose.
