I hate it when they drone on and do not come to a skillfully planned, fulfilling and satisfying ending (ending while the player still wants to play); and they instead over-extend the experience [far past its due], and the player eventually quits out of withering boredom with the game they once loved. People ask, (more or less) 'Why is the old Fallout game held in such fond memory', and one of the reasons is that the game was fun and intriguing, and it ends on a high note with a bit of a shocking twist ~not a drawn out death march into ever increasing apathy for it; total apathy never comes, but the TES games that I've played build up the excitement and then keep feeding it to you until you can't stand it anymore. The expression goes, 'When the pig get full, the slop gets sour'... If the game's came to an abrupt, but flourishing end ~say... like Baldur's Gate 1 & 2, or Planescape, to name some excellent examples... there would not be a feeling of sour slop associated with the memory of it. It's relatively easy to have a game reset and play forever; it's an ancient tactic... It's what Pacman and Donkey Kong did. It's not so easy to craft a powerful narrative tale that follows an exciting course to an ultimate (and satisfying) conclusion, that leaves the player wanting more, but understanding that it's over... and that it's a good thing.

Tell me... Is there anyone here that would willingly watch a 25 hour Hobbit or Lord of the Rings movie? How many times would you ever do that again? In the Hobbit (as it is now), there are single sentences in the book that are inflated to 15 minutes in the film... It's nice to daydream about such movie, but when you actually have it I doubt any would be enthusiastic about watching again... yet how many times have you all watched Hobbit or Lord of the Rings? Why is that?

When I get to the end of Fallout, it's a similar feeling as from getting to the end of a novel that I enjoyed. When the game is done, I look back on it, but look forward to some other [possibly unrelated] game; though I've played sequels back to back, and it's fun.

Playing a 60 hour RPG that is designed like an arcade game is not fun after a while, and after a bit more it becomes a chore... and why would I ever want the game I was enjoying to become a chore? Never ending games are a bit like guests that never go home; or an orator that never stops talking. You enjoy your time with them, but after a while you start wishing they would wrap it up. This is the crux... You want them to end on a high note, you don't want them to be forced off the stage.

Fallout 4 villain suggestion here http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Km7WD8wkb1c

I have lost faith in the survivor 2299 while at my local gamestop the attractive store manager and her temptress assistant crushed my hope and turned it into http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ctwqa3QCwMw

Level caps work if they are implimented correctly.. (like you don't actually come close to obtaining the cap through natural gameplay.) So far, Bethesda's fallouts haven't nailed down that integral balance. They seem to base the cap on a single quick juant through the main missions and not count any side / exploritory play. I don't care about caps.. I just hate hitting them way before I'm done playing the game.

I guess people have been typing in random extensions and seeing if they get something other than a 404 error. I do find it rather odd that it is VT119 rather than just V119...

But it is obviously just a vault, why the need for the extra letter? Eh, it's probably nothing.

anyone have a theory on who breached Vault 119? and what killed 899 people (one not counted in the death toll possible being "the survivor")?

Hi all this is my first post here so I'll make it something worth saying, I think I may have stumbled upon something with a little help from chrome.

Say for example if someone wanted a site that generated high traffic for whatever reason one would assume they would make it related in part atleast to something people are hoping for e.g a new Fallout game, Now I could be wrong here it might not even be the same guy that started the survivor site.

Anyway enough rambling personally I think its a hoax I cant post links for whatever reason maybe because this is my first post fair enough, But if anyone would like to check google keyword planner moz .com Krzysztof Furtak, If its the same guy then its obviously a hoax and a way to create a site that gets tons of traffic :).

Someone did that a few months back using NASA images and it was all an advertisemant for some kids YouTube video. There was a countdown just like on thesurvivor2299.com.

reference: http://www.rememberthe13th.com/

I'll laugh my ass off if it turns out to be another one of those.

The video it linked to was removed but it was here https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=G4ojkW_t7mo

Unless he's using the hype and hidden a way to get paid for site views, If that's the case he's gonna be rich, Then again working in IT I'd expect him to have a fair amount of cash to begin with, Hmm it sure is a mystery though.
