I haven't been around for a while. But following the updates. IMO thesurvivor2299.com is legit, Why? It reminds me of "Something Under the Sea". That was and will forever be the best viral PR gaming campaign to date ever. You could recieve pictures, a record, letters, membership card, a booklet, it was RAPTURE!. This is similar to the puzzle box, remember the puzzle box, the record player, codes, etc...

I recall readiing an article, no i do not have a date, name or reference, but it suggested when the next FO sequel, ie FO4, was to be revealed it would be a quick release due to past performance deadlines. Does anyone recall this?

Yes. I don't care if I have to wait another 5 years so they have the time to make the game almost perfect.

ThePropheteer was never a legit site in the first place. Their opinion on TheSurvivor2299 is irrelevant.

I don't think he does, just that he said it was (which I never doubted survivor2299 was fake thus far). I know he realizes the hits he/she's getting and throwing that out there to throw people off.

That might add more legitimacy to the survivor site, I think it's pretty clear beth got it pulled down with the Vault-Tec logo and all.

How many people were even following ThePropheteer. Someone threw that out there at one point and I just didn't really care because Survivor2299 came first and that was still puffing out smoke (as it still is).

And if it was pulled down for the Fallout logo thing, than why doesn't the man just say it. If he does than the survivor site is real, if he leaves it in the shadows like he is now, then he knows nothing more than me or you (or atleast he is not sharing it giving his source material no relevance to us).

He is simply reacting to the nice tweet we got. Let's see what gammacookie and fiberkanin on reddit are doing now which surely both have nothing to do with thesurvivor

I think the real reasoning behind TheSurvivor2299 and why it's not a hoax can all be seen in ThePropheteer. ThePropheteer hardly beame popular for a day and it has already failed as a hoax. Not to mention it messed up with the Vault Boy art and its coding is terrible.

Also, it's been mentioned a million times but TheSurvivor2299 has an age gate in its code. While a hoaxer could easily do that as well I feel it's something they would overlook.

Most likely the Propheteer guy started getting alot more views on his site and attracted Beths attention. He probably got scared and stopped the site.

Although I am a believer in the survivor site, I must point out some flaws in this argument. ThePropheteer site and the survivor site are very much different. ThePropheteer seems much more complex making it harder to deceive an audience while the survivor site is very plain with only a countdown clock. I would probably say the Survivor site (if it was a hoax) did their homework and just compared it to Bethesda sites a bit.

There have been a bunch of FO4 hoax sites and they have all mysteriously shut themselves down except one. Hmm...

ya i am starting to notice that. Bethesda's Secret Police's actions may not be known, but their victims certainly are..

Guys, why are we even discussing the probability that either site is legit? Pete Hine's tweet couldn't be more clear - they're trying to diffuse the hype because it's not going to lead to anything. If they owned any teasers, they would'nt be trying to derail the hype train.

At least the prophet site had the grace to bow out after that, rather than dragging this whole string of hoaxes wearily onward.

i have NO idea whats going on anymore..This site just came out and said "im fake" pretty much...but NOW it says its PROPERTY OF ZENIMAX thepropheteer(dot)com

also i noticed last night around the edge of this site turned black --> fallout(dot)gamesas(dot)com/eng/home/home(dot)php and also says "? 2013 Bethesda Softworks LLC, a Zenimax Media Company. All Rights Reserved." before it didnt say "? 2013" ..it had an earlier year
