Maybe it's somehow connected with Obsidian. #wishful_thinking

Agreed. All that hype over a hoax. Just imagine if Bethesda clearly put up a site like that and said "yes this is ours" and walked away. But we would be left with the anticipation of what it could mean.

Or just have a teaser on this site and it would be huge news.

There is no need for tricks or big award shows. If anything it can actually hurt game development. The makes would have to take time away from developement to make a demo for the show and then for the next show and the one after that... when instead they could just avoid that and work on the darn game.

... ok ..... I strongly suspect that the "more news soon" bit is related to even more Fallout merchandise

Well the VGX is awful now. No wonder it wasn't on TV.

My brain hurts.

I have no idea what to think about FO4 now. Just wait and see I guess.

That may be true, but that rumor isn't without at least some merit, after all, it was referred to in Fallout 3 (IIRC) a few times. That's by no means evidence of FO4's setting being in Boston, but at least it is something to go on.

Pity. I generally prefer to actually be given a long time to give our thoughts and opinions on a game. If the gap between announcement and release is shortened, I don't know if the fanbase will have that much of an impact later on. Not saying that I don't trust them. I wonder if this forum and our thoughts will have any impact on the game. I truly hope so :D

At this stage in development, my guess would be our input on the game would be minimal at best.

Yeah but by that logic you can also say Chicago and Canada (Toronto) because those were also mentioned in Fallout 3. Chicago mentioned in Fallout 3, New Vegas and Tactics and Canada mentioned in every Fallout game.

Boston is the most popular rumored place because of the Commonwealth and android stuff. So if you wanted to Hoax something... you would go for the thing most people would know and be hyped about.. Such as Boston.

Also has Reddit ever been right about anything? It seems like everytime there is a rumor about Fallout it came from Reddit and of course its fake everytime.

Plus I somewhat remember someone posting a link a long time ago saying the "I saw Bethesda people in Boston" rumor being fake and the person behind it admitting it.

I've got no problems with any of those locations. However, out of the three (Toronto, Boston, and Chicago) I like Chicago the best, with Boston coming in at a close second.

Agreed. For now those I think are the top three likely locations for Fallout 4.

We just have to wait and see. Who knows it might be in a place none us use expected.

It's not, Chicago was mentioned in Fallout 3 i'm sure and the west coast was also mentioned I'm fairly certain Canada was as well doesn't mean or imply Fallout 4 will be set in one of those places. We REALLY have nothing to go on any speculation at this point is most probably contrived conjecture, it's wait and see what Beth does.

Sorry if that sounds like i'm being short but people are really trying hard to find the most tenuous possibilities relating to Fallout 4.

It was so perfectly laid out in my head:

Doritos Pope- So, what made you guys decide to announce Fallout 4 through VGX?

Todd Howard- Well, the hype produced by a certain website was hitting a fever pitch and, with Skyrim two years behind us, we felt it was time to let everyone know what we've been up to. What better way than on national television?

Annoying Guy- That mutant from the trailer was uglier than Lindsey Lohan. Am I right?

Todd- Wha-?

Doritos Pope- WELL Twitter is exploding, with #Fallout4 as the #1 trending topic worldwide. Thanks for coming in, Todd.

Annoying Guy- My advlt diapers are itchy from my night with that mutant prosttute last night. *Farts*

Todd- So the door is that way, right?

Doritos Pope- Always a pleasure. Now we're heading out for a preview of our GTA V concert!

Assorted Baggy Clothing- Yoyoyoyoyoyoyoyoyoyoyoyo.... 30 more seconds? Yoyoyoyoyoyoyoyoyoyoyoyoyo....

In other news, this is by far the most active forum on gamesas, but it has only been for the duration of Survivor2299 being debated. I wonder how long this injection of life will last before 90% of us go into Fallout news stasis again.

This. At the very least, Beth, just tell us if you're working on it or not. If you're not, don't make us sit here and hold hope. If you are, it'll lead to less frustrated fans who believe you have forgotten about Fallout. (I'm leaning that direction as of late)

Joel Mchale was hilarious. Don't know what y'all are talking about. But he's not a gamer. The VGA's always have a non-gamer host because the VGA's svck.
