Fallout 4 Speculation, Suggestions and Ideas #203

Post » Thu May 22, 2014 9:58 am

This thread is so that we can keep all the discussion, rumors and speculation in one place.

This topic is for a friendly discussion of ideas and suggestions for Fallout 4.

We all have opinions about what the next game should have and should not have. Each of us has the right to express that opinion freely. There are points we agree on and points we do not agree on. This means that people are going to disagree with you on some things. Accept that and move on. No need to beat your point so far into the ground that no one wants to look at it any more.

At moderator discretion, threads about specific and distinct topics as they relate to FO4 and the rest of the Fallout series may be acceptable in the Fallout Series forum. General idea/suggestion topics for a future Fallout game will either be closed, or moved to this one.
This thread should be used to discuss items you'd like to see in a future game, gameplay tweaks, quest ideas, things you hope are not in the next game and so on. If you want to discuss major issues, use a separate topic - such as the discussion about adding multi-player or co-op play, which already has a thread. Please search first to see if there is an active/recent thread on a particular topic.

Something to note. Discussions of Child Killing is not allowed on these boards. Don't even bring it up in this thread. It won't happen in any future game from Bethesda, so there is no reason to even discuss it. If you post about this subject, you may be Warned and or Banned from the boards for doing so.

This is also not a thread to discuss current or past Fallout Games, other than to mention an aspect of the game you want to see included, or not included, in a future Fallout game.

Sure, my builds often move around depending on my mood. As far as this one, which I've actually found to be the easiest in terms of combat and such is:

Spoiler

SPECIAL
S-4 P-9 E-4 C-1 I-10 A-9 L-3... The reason for this build is because New Vegas seems to favor Light and Medium armor over Heavy. In Goodsprings you'll likely find a hat that gives +1 to Perception as well as clothes which give +1 to Agility (I think in Doc Mitchell's wardrobe). Of course depending on your mood, only do a 9 in INT because you can get the Implant anyways.

Stats- I made sure on my first level up to funnel points into the Goodsprings quest which gave me 25 in most practical skills like lock pick, etc. However at level 2 I think my energy weapons was 45 or 50 and my Guns was 40. Sneak was 25.

Tags- Guns, Repair and Science. The reason is because during the Goodsprings tut these will give you an advantage to finding supplies and making caps before leaving.

Traits- Wild Wasteland and Weapons Discipline. Best weapons in the game are all semi-auto so, you accuracy is always priority of fire rate.

Once you leave Goodsprings, redo you Tags to: Energy Weapons, Guns and Science. You'll have likely already made use of the repair skill to nearly max repair all low level gear and thus will not need it since you'll be avoiding combat altogether.
Put your Perk into Confirmed Bachelor because you can get Arcade Gannon off the bat, and he is very OP.

Disregard any clothing which will slow you down, DT isn't needed as this build will help you avoid all combat. As stated before locate items that will boost your stats to max.

Now for the path I took all though there are several paths to take without getting into conflict, or at least bare minimum.
Spoiler

I first hooked right off the main road and talked to the guy who sends you up into the hill to help his friend. Immediately bash his brains in with a baseball bat and grab his loot, he only betrays you anyway. Follow up the path and you'll find a 10mm Pistol and over a hundred rounds.

Then turn towards Sloan. From there you should have leveled to 3 simply for locating the place. Hang to the right of the hills near the bark scorpions, if you attack then pull, they won't be able to land a hit and you won't have to waste ammo by using the bat. Angle yourself towards Neil's Shack at the bottom of Black Mountain. Grab the grenades for easy caps in the shack. Move along the outskirts of Black Mountain and use a Stealth Boy to get past any Super Mutants who might show up. Then from there I just went along to the NCR Ranger bunker and followed the hill to Repconn.

At Repconn you can probably figure it for yourself, just use a Science magazine to hack the computer to the first floor, and then add in your Facial pattern to the system, move to second floor and do the same, third floor and grab all the loot from BoS as well as Skill Books for Energy Weapons. In the brief case near the BoS is 200 prewar money and the key to entering the Very Hard door on the first floor. Grab all the supplies and you've effectively got yourself end game gear at level 3. Without so much as gaining a scratch.

It isn't exactly a challenge though, as long as you're cautious there is little threat at all. Once you reach Repconn it's a straight shot to Freeside and you can use your gear to either kill high level creatures and power level, or do some mundane quests to level up first.

I also want to specify, that my first characters are usually just scouts that find out what is what in the Wastes before engaging into serious playthroughs. So my first time playing New Vegas I actually ended up doing the same exact thing as that mini-guide I just gave you, albeit with a different build of character.

Should be able to get that far within an hour or so. So yeah, enjoy.
