This won't happen but... I'd like to see a PC version of the game. Not completely different but an official mod that allowed PC players to take advantage of the greater resources their system have. If one was available for F.NV it would include more crowded settlements, casinos etc, better textures and fewer loading screens.

You know what I mean, in Greek and Roman mythology they're godlings but not in Fallout (besides in F3 and NV).

Unless you're suggesting the Lone Wanderer is the son of Zeus/Jupiter :shocking:

It would be great if companions actually acknowledged each others existence's. And had actual relationships with each other (friendships I mean). Think Dragon Age; where companions talk to each other, and based off things both you and certain companions do, have strong opinions of each other, and reference each other during dialogue, Come to think of it, there should always be options during conversation with a companion to ask their opinion on the others, and just have a conversation about them. Like I said, Bioware in Dragon Age handles this exceptionally. FAllout games feel as though I have some people with you, who don't know or care about the others with you- Dragon Age (and most/all Bioware games) feels like a group of people who know and talk to each other.

Think of an immersive RPG like Fallout with the storytelling and companion handling of a Bioware game.

If Bethesda could implement a similar thing to Fallout games, it would add a whole new layer of realism, immersion and finesse.

I asked this in the last topic before it got locked.

What do you think the name of the PC in the next game should be? Two names I liked are The Stranger and The Prisoner.

I think The Settler would be a good name for a PC.

That could be the unopened worshipped vault instead...

Sure I like that idea, it could help the fact that its not been opened.

The thing about no health increase for levelling, perhaps with each level you could choose whether to upgrade health or action points.

(snip)

I understand what you want, I just fundamentally disagree with your solution, with seems to be nerfing it into relevancy. The entire point of leveling is for your character to improve. Not just becoming a better shot, but also being able to survive more punishment. If you want Endurance to be more relevant, give it a bigger impact on how much HP you gain each level. Don't just axe. Honestly, that sounds like Bethesda's typical solution.

Then increase the rate at which weapon damage scales. That way the high HP is needed in areas with well armed enemies. Will you still be a godling against weaker enemies? Sure, but you should be.

I think The Settler would be a good name for a PC.

That makes him sound worse than... "The courier" I hated that name, but it definately fit. Fallout 1,2, and 3 have been the best of the five.

Maybe sometime like The Wonder Wombat :) Wow, it is hard to think of one of these. Maybe something along the lines of, the outcast.

Hi, I have like a ton of things that i would Really like to see come in fallout 4 or some future fallout game.

1 Canadians, In fallout one (And a little bit in fallout 3) We hear/see things that says the U.S. has annexxed canada, Of course most of you already know that. I think that A little bit of Ontario/Manitoba Should Be able to be explored as with some canadian rebels.

2 Start in China, The Nuclear war was with america and china, We have No idea if China is there or not from the start of fallout 1 to the end of new vegas,Maybe China is the new center of world power, Maybe China Has become Overpopulated and started Parachuting Down Criminals too somewhere in the united states Kind of like What The british did except instead of australia america.

3 Longer lesser factions quest chains, This is a big one When I do a lesser faction For instance The Remnants, I would want that to something that will take time to do and not just be a faceroll.

4 Bring Back the actual Enclave maybe with them winning? Or a chance to join them.

5 Meet-up with vault 13 might be nice

6 Longer Main Storyline with a playafter ending, Oh my god the first time I played fallout new vegas I thought it was going to have a way bigger main story But i do admit side quests are a good way to overcome this

7 More main factions such as a type of canadian emissaries Brotherhood of steel Enclave Caesers legion, (a descendant of caeser)

8 The NCR's End, As we have seen in new vegas The NCR was in a war with a group That took up roman trodition, With the way the NCR has been growing it might be a good time to make them turn against each other

I think that is all thanks for reading

The point of is that we become so unbalanced by it.
We get perks, health, power armor, unique weapons, drugs, lots and lots of stimpaks and VATS, none of which the NPC's are given.
So we end up becoming a walking god.
The difficulty systems quite clearly has not been able to find a good way to balance it all out so something new is needed.

No health per level might sound like a bad idea but it will actually make Endurance on not only you but all the enemies so more important.
No longer does your level define how good your character will be in combat but by your gear and your numbers. (And of course your skills.)
Meaning that if you and a companion face against 10 raiders you're likely going to be walking away a companion short and have a pharmacy injected into your body.
While if you face against 10 raiders with 3 companions and better gear you will be on more equal terms, it will still be hard, but you and your companions have a greater shot at making it out alive.

It might not seem ideal what with health being given by the level being a staple of RPG's but it could really help balance things out and make each battle a struggle for survival.

Alternatively, they could include this in my Disadvantages suggestion, making it completely optional. Though then the game will be designed around the player being given health and might [censored] up the balance even worse. :(

But the biggest reason for it is this: Why the hell are we being given magic powers?
How come NPC's get so little health?
Let me do an example, go to the Freeside and only wear a brahmin skin outfit and a knife, now, let the thug stab you 5 times and then stab him 5 times.
Which one of you lost the most health in % comparison to boths max health?
The thug.
It doesn't make sense, we're both in the same outfit, we both have the same weapon, yet for some biased reason the PC gets more health.
I absolutely hate it.
Cause we already get VATS, perks, chems, stimpaks and armor and weapons thich the NPC's never spawn with.
It's only fair to even the score out a little.

I just don't see why I should get trice as much health as a generic town citizen when we both share the same END.
We're both humans right? With the same Endurance.

I get that we're all playing as the protagonist, but why should we be an exception to this?
I mean, The Lone Wanderer was some brat that had shot stuff with a BB gun prior to going outside and ended up so powerful that he/she could take on Frank Horrigan.
And while The Courier was a bit more experienced he was still just a mailman, yet he ended up being able to defeat the monster of the east.
How does that work?
Frank Horrigan was a soldier turned super mutant, he had experience, tons and tons of experience.
And Lanius? He isn't the legate for nothing.
But both of these protagonists just started actually "doint stuff" and they became so ridiculously overpowered that if Lanius or Frank got the same treatment they'd actually become gods.

Bethesda should stop treating the player character like (s)he's an exception to this, cause (s)he's not.

At least that's my take on it.
Just thought I'd explain more in detail as to why I want this change.

[edit]

I get that it might be about 'Showing that the character is moving forward', that (s)he is progressing.
But I thought skill points, perks, and equipment were supposed to show that.

Fallout Is an RPG This is how an RPG works

I'm sorry Sneerkul but Fallout has been announced to only be in America (whether that counts Canada or not is a matter of opinion, I would count it), not China or any other foreign country.

Great then.

That sounds good, either be a bullet sponge or decent in everything or somewhere in between.

@Mitheledh
Armor would be much more useful and powerful, and power armor would basically make you as strong as a tank. Armor should affect you hit points more and with little hit points and a lot of armor your set.

I don't think so. You shouldn't be reliant entirely on gear for your survival. It should be supplementary.

But that's how you survived in the old games and that's how you survive in real life.

Your going to have to relly on your gear to make sure one bullet isn't the end of you, that'll require repairing it regularly and making sure its in good condition.

As stated by an earlier post you can decide to add points to your HP instead of adding to you skills to balance it out a bit.

If you add to your skills often, add to your HP a few times, and have decent armor you'll probably survive most gun fights.

First, hitpoints are not a skill, so using skillpoints to increase it makes no sense. HP are a reflection how much punishment your character can take. It's generally accepted that someone with high endurance can take more punishment, which is why endurance affects HP. But someone who has also experienced more can generally take more. That's why it's also usually influenced by level.

Second, if your goal is to make endurance more important, then this idea is counter productive. Under such a system, your endurance will be relevant for all of one level. Your first level. The moment you hit level two, and can add HP willy nilly, then there's no longer a connection between HP and endurance. It renders Endurance irrelevant.

Meeee came up with the idea (Not Me as in myself but the user Meeee with four E s. I saw how some people did not like the idea, he posted that and I thought that would be a good solution to the arguement.

If you don't like it we don't need it but we can't go through another game as a God on Earth, its makes the game boring.

I was playing yesterday and a deathclaw started chasing me. I sighed like I sigh when I have to kill some radroaches, that is a problem. I should be running for cover or firing off as many rounds as I can before it gets to me, not sighing and killing it in one shot. This is a major problem that needs somebody to adress it.

I would like to refer to you to paragraph two, three, and four of what I said to Mitheledh.

We are just to overpowered in Fallout now.

No one likes bullet sponges. That's why you have to tweak damages.

You want to not feel like a god? Then you need enemies that can test your limits. Enemies that have a good defense and are capable of withering firepower.

Its really simple what they need to do, strengthen enemies, strengthen bullets, and weaken the PC.
