Fallout 4: Speculation, Suggestions and Ideas - Thread #60

Post » Fri May 04, 2012 4:08 am

After explaining it a lil clearer I seen what you were talking about Gab77. But nevertheless, I'd still like there to be say, 30-40 major faction related missions that would earn you immense prestige among them and hate among their rivals. Effectively joining that faction but not "joining" that faction

That sounds a whole lot better than joining. These quests/missions should also p.iss the other factions off in a more direct way, right now they are just affected indirectly most of the time.

Things I like to see in the new Fallout installment: (these are major suggestions, many more in details which have less priority)

Fallout 4 should be a continuation of Fallout3, happening in the same place. it'd be interesting to see some younger characters of F3 are now grown advlts and can give you real quests. I hate to see F4 happening in any other place but American post apocalyptic wastelands with no green lands or trees except a very few unique locations.

I would like to see more current controversial topics of today's date being implemented in the story line and decision making of the main character (you).

I would like to see a better organization of the weapons. its good to have 50 million different types of weapon, I have no problem with that as long as they are categorically defined and not all over the place. Unique weapons in the game should always have better stats like they always due :D

and the most important fact of all which made Fallout my number one game in the world for ever ever ever, is to have more secrets!!! SECRETS SECRETS SECRETS!!! underground governmental institutes and experimentation and technology and ideologies and all around stuff. One of the reasons that I loved F3 over New Vegas was the Alien ship crash site, the radiation surrounding the crash site and the radio signal that gets picked up. it gives it a Roswell case effect, goosebumps :P

Mystery and discovery, brutality, rituals and superstitious factions. more taboo, and radical behavior. make it more dramatic with human being's emotional involvement.

Companions - there should really be allowed no more than two, one human, and one non-human. and please make them all "bug-free"

Make the game as long as you can without it being boring. a big map like F3 is much appreciated. bring back characters of F3 as I mentioned before because that is gonna be interesting, pumps a rush of adrenaline through our veins to see "comebacks".

Here is an idea, how about make the character able to marry someone. like in skyrim, but not as follower, just to keep at a safe-house and guarding your goods :D

Skills and perks. please please please make more practical perks that are really worth getting that are really gonna affect your overall abilities in general. not some unique perk that only gets utilized once or twice in the entire game. design level gains such that it would be hard to level up, but you would be able to get at least 90% of all perks so you don't have to choose which is worth it, cuz if some is not worth getting then why implement it in the first place, get what I mean? I get the whole idea of not being able to get all the perks cuz that's too cliche or easy or classic or whatever, but at least give us a chance of being able to get all of them in a very unique certain way. (for example there would be only ONE way that you could get all the perks and that in my opinion is challenging which adds to the excitement of the game, cuz now, not only you need to focus on the game but you would also have to focus on getting that one way correct. that's essentially two games in one :D isnt that awesome? its like more of Fallout-ing)

bring the bobble heads back with the collector machine and chance to increase S.P.E.C.I.A.L

Fallout 3's success was the story line and DLCs. so make sure the story doesn't svck like New Vegas. I felt so parted from Fallout, during New Vegas. here's an idea for a story, the main character will rise to the top and become elected as the savior of the nation and bring peace and protection.

Addition of jet-pack to travel around and over the buildings and mountains are always appreciated. I think it would be a good idea and fans will take interest in such things. that is because part of what made Fallout a hit was the feel of discovering something hidden or mysterious. so jet-pack makes sense to explore new areas.

Flash backs to previous Fallout games and characters involvement is an interesting idea.

Please give it more post apocalyptic features such as different technological equipment and life styles. if its year 2255 or whatever in future, should there be higher life style? i know its destroyed in the nuclear war but something should remain right? like people who have survived, carry on the science and knowledge of the day.

Design more common well known places and monuments like in Fallout3, the white house, pentagon, Washington monument, Grand canyon, empire state building, military basis, prisons, fair grounds, high bridges, highways, bars and restaurants.

last but not least, DLCs. Point Lookout just made me sit down and worship Fallout!!! Mothership zeta gave me an orgism. point lookout for the creepiness and mothership zeta for the futuristic technological alien existing life. please give us more of that. Operation Anchorage was patriotic. the Pitt was heroic. Broken steel was epic. I loved every single bit of that game.

Fallout 3 was so good that I believe anything you guys do will not be as good, because its impossible to make Fallout3 quality game or even close to that. but im hoping one day, Fallout, makes a game just as good as Fallout3.

Yeah, that is what I meant. He just calls it "dog", not as a name. Sorry.
Btw, didn't he have a different dog in Mad Max 1?

Its been awhile, I don't remember their being one in the first one.

I usually just remember the scene where the guy gets his hand ripped off or what happens to Goose. :(

Would be cool to use more than one weapon gun and something on a back like sniper or something else.

Snip

So you want another FO3? A game full of plot holes, sloppy writing and little to none way to roleplay? Why?
And now to your suggestions:
1. Marriage like Skyrim? You understand it was just slapped over the game with no real purpose?
2.Perks, you should get 90% with a single character? Just no, it would really destroy any real purpose for skill/special choices.
3. Bobbleheads, those magical little things, "Oh look this neat toy has some writing on it!" and now my muscle mass has increased? They are a definite no-no in my books.
4. Fallout 3 story was badly written and allowed you to only side with the BoS. So no.
5.Jet-pack? I won't even dignify that with an answer.
6. How was Broken Steel epic? It actually succeeded to make the games ending even more bad, and only offered more futuristic-barbarian-who-shoots-enemies stuff, which shouldn't be Fallouts main focus, IMO.

And last, but not least: Welcome to the forums!

The ES threads went way above 150 thread with "suggestions and speculations" and from what little I skimmed them, very little was actually taken into account (someone more knowledgeable about those threads might correct me). Beth is also creating the, allegedly large, DLC's for skyrim, and announcing Fallout 4 would hurt the attention they seek for those DLC's, so don't wait for anything soon.

Agreed. Very much so.

new fallout setting has got to be new york city, i personally think that would be awesome, or washington dc, why not have the courier try and set his own faction going and have him recruit followers to resurect everything. with his actions and the choice in followers helping or stabing him in the back with wrong descions he chooses. loved new vegas but i think it was the only thing missing not being able to make your own faction and making the ending truely your own.

I would find it lame if they did it in NYC. Really lame, I mean. Who hasn't seen NYC in ruins. Who hasn't seen a headless statue of liberty, who hasn't seen empire state building in ruins... etc, etc, etc, etc...?

The only thing that would be great about new york would be some snake pliskin references.

But I still want four corners. Mostly because I want to see re-purposed anasazi ruins

:tops:

They should do a prequel, Escape from Cleveland. In escape from L.A they talk about cleveland as being where it all got started for him. It is where he lost his eye. They also call him "war hero" so I picture it being like "First Blood" but in a dystopian America.

Well, we don't see it that often...

....

Escape from New York
Alone in The Dark
Manhunter
Crysis 3 (WIP)
Manhunter: New York
Resistance 3

Just to name a few... but... yeah. :whistling: [/sarcasm]

Indeed, but it wouldn't do Snake an honor to only mention his name in a sidemission in a locale that's only briefly presented. God, no.

Which would require the setup to be bigger, but it couldn't be big enough... :swear:

I've never seen NYC in ruins in media, unless it was on the internet as a screenshot or something, true story.

Nicely paced and narrated, but definitely not a good film imo.

You can only witness its crappiness if you watch it yourself, but despite the lack of quality, it is still an NYC catastrophy movie.
