Fallout 4: Speculation, Suggestions & Ideas - Thread #55

How would you guys feel about an area completely filled with lethal radiation and metros underneath with different settlements like the Metro games?

Sounds neat in my opinion.

Not as the main map, just as a part maybe south west of the main megatropolis area.

Also, a group of remnant Desert Rangers. Maybe just traveling all over the wasteland since they refused to annex into NCR?

Oh and Tycho!!! We can meet him in his armor he explained.

Also, no essential people like Skyrim
Like fo3 and nv, don't give us stupid annoying people we can't kill.

Oh and no children. If you want to include children, don't make them annoying. And had them talk to you only if you press x to them.

That's mission impossible lol. I'd rather they just make them disappear.

What do you think about Alaska for the setting, or even just as an expansion? Then you could get some of the chinese stuff in there (since they invaded Alaska) without having to set the game there? I'm still all for the Chicago idea personally, but that might be cool.

That's another thing I think would be cool too is seasons. Like I said before, I like the survival/camping type aspect of hardcoe mode, and I think seasons could play into that. Make it so you have to worry about freezing to death and stuff. I think it would be interesting if the environment was just as able to kill you as some raider junkie (which is the impression I get from the games, that this is a hostile environment, but I think they could do more to deliver on that).
I have talked aboot season's before as well as the holidays that go with them. December would be just awesome with Christmas.

True, but you couldn't really explore anything in Operation Anchorage, it was pretty linear.

I doubt Bethesda is going anywhere snowy, like Alaska, after Skyrim.

...although, thinking it further and all things considered.... I could be wrong too. :sadvaultboy:

There could still be stuff left over from the invasion though, didn't the Great War happen soon after we liberated Anchorage? You do bring up good points though, it probably wouldn't happen.

I would want that tunnel snakes would come back big time. Maybe it would have been become so large faction that it will be main faction and maybe they have recently destroyed caesars legion completely and it is war at ncr and ncr is dying against them too. Then suddenly giant mysterious disc shaped cloud arrives into sky and later it reveal that its actually giant alien battleship that invades the wasteland and it begins to bombard nearby cities with plasma annihilator cannons and then it lands and lots of aliens will come from it.

Then tunnel snakes are in big, big trouble. And they fight against each other fiercely and tunnel snakes hq is under siege and is about to fall into alien hands... until lone wanderer appears, and this time he has new friends. The Enclave. With aid of Enclave, the tunnel snakes hq is defended successfully against alien invaders. Then lone wanderer would have to create a great alliance that guards the doomed wasteland from alien invaders.

That could create some interesting choises and consequences stuff as you would have to deside what factions do you want in your alliance and maybe some factions are hating some other so they cannot be allied with, unless reasoned with high science or speech/charisma skill that the alliance is nessessarity to win the war against aliens. Maybe 4-5 factions could be enough to launch assault into landed mothership. And after capturing the mothership, you could deside to give it to enclave or you could fly into mars with some space lunatics that wants to live there and lone wanderer comes there too. Maybe some enclave wants there too. Or you could be evil doer and start to fly your self that ship and shoot every town in the wasteland into crater. :flamethrower:

That would please all people. New fans and old fans. New fans likes lots of aliens, enclave & Epic battles and old fans likes lots of choises and concequenses and being evil and enclave. :vaultboy: Also there should be super mutants to please old fans.

I don't think that's the link you're looking for. It just sends me to the homepage for Funnyjunk?

I mean, maybe it is, but seems a tad...pointless.

How about locating it around the Commonwealth? There were a great many references to in in Fallout 3, and some of the characters were rumoured to have gone there.

It opens up the options for androids and an androids rebellion.
It also allows for interesting tech to be introduced. things that may not have been pre war, or even pre-war tech, modded with commonwealth tech.
As for music, I agree, more! but here's an interesting idea, it doesn't all have to be circa 1940. Indie bands could be offered the opportuinty to produce and submit what they feel post-war music would become, Fallout would generate it's own styles, and original music. (That said, please keep the 40's era music as well. it makes the mood)

I would like to see vehicles added, the Highwayman, and the Humvee made life so much better in 2 and tactics.
An idea where you could customize the car too would be cool. If you have a HIghwayman, and you loot some Bighorner horns, or deathclaw horns, you should be able to attach them to the hood. or lift kits so the car handles better in the wastes, changing the paint colour, things like that.

Ditch the ammo system from New Vegas and keep that simple. I never used any of the special ammo, except when I was out of regular bullets.
Make the slienced weapons more useful. Being able to commit a sneak attack with a .50 cal rifle? hmmm...

I liked the idea previous about having it in Toronto, until I realized the C.N. Tower wasn't built until the 70's. Kinda takes the fun out of Toronto without it there...

Here's my take on Collectables:
Nuka-Cola goodies. The trucks are awesome, and I had a massive pile of them in FO3, but what about unique Nuka-Goodies? Unique trucks, or T-[censored], toys, dishes, anything.
(I'll admit, I was annoyed when *I* Couldn't have a nuka cola fridge too!)

A better improvised weapons system would be interesting too, like being able to consruct Zip-guns (Fallout New Vegas was supposed to have one as the first weapon I believe), and just put different junk together to make new things. The Dart Gun saved my can from deathclaws many-a-time in FO3.

As far as characters go, I'd like to see my main character come out of a vault. I didn't like the New Vegas character as much as the Vault Dweller characters.
- A side idea would be to have a choose a character system. It might only slightly modify the main story line, but you could be a vault starter, a brotherhood initiate, a tribal, an android escaping the commonwealth, or any number of other options.

Companions should be able to be given tasks when not in use. Rather than sitting around drinking your booze and eating your food in the Lucky 38, You should be able to set them with tasks like, Go Gather Ammo, or, Improve my standing with (x) - Faction

Another idea spawned from that idea - have a companion happiness system, the happier they are, the better they perform. If the fridge is stocked with food and booze, they are happier, if all you give them is rotting dog flesh, maybe not as much...

-DOGMEAT. Dogmeat must be a companion! (And it would be nice to be able to tell him to go wait in your home, rather than outside vault 101. )

I also see alot of "Better customization for player housing" posts. I agree with this as well. It'd be nice if I could choose where to place a container, or juke box, or bed if possible.

no sorry but i don't think USA manege or even cared about moping up every trace of the chines during that half a year they controlled Alaska. And whit the rest of America full of chines infiltration its no chance Alaska if free from it!
Its also all those pockets of resisters that hide or sleep out in the wild that US army haven't found (yet)! Just Lock at Germany 1945-1947 it still existed terror cells wolfs that operated, and you can find similar movement's after any nations capitulation, the only difference in this is that china never capitulated!
on top of that they must have lodes off POW and mountains of catered equipment's all over Alaska
