Fallout 4: Speculation, Suggestions & Ideas - Thread #56

That 15% was brilliant fun though and I still had great times running over little kids with a truck in GTA IV which was my specialty.

Those big semi trucks!

Also, chasing people in a police cruiser and ramming them off track is fun too.

The ability to take people hostage and vice-versa.

Also, Co-Op Could Work, But They Would Probably Have To Change Some Of The Gameplay In Order For That To Happen.
I know. It would be borderlands style too. Sounds fun to me, but all fallout games are fun to me

Really,. Well i meant like game play with co-op not necasarilly the stuff thats in it. Plus karma would have to be shared and perferably have 2 of each unique. One for each.

Rented it with portal 2. Portal 2 svcked me in more than borderlands. It isn't different that I don't like bd. just not a fan of killing everything I see.

I would like to see a disease or infection system. Something that would make it more dangerous for hand to hand combat or getting into fights. It wouldnt even be to hard, just have it effect your special stats like hunger or thirst like in New Vegas. It would created more quests and give great plot twists, such as a town that infects you and sends you out to find a cure. Do you save them or condemn them, etc. It would also be something you could add to weapons.

I'm currently making a Fallout Chicago map on Google maps.

http://maps.google.com/maps/ms?authuser=0&vps=2&hl=en&ie=UTF8&oe=UTF8&msa=19&msid=216834368319703112512.0004bb26e6abae9af5285

During the BoS first visit to Chicago, they were attacked by Super Mutants, which resulted in the Super Mutant wars. They decided to go against protocol and take in tribals apart of their ranks to help them reclaim Chicago, but could not gain power. When the war wrapped up, the tribal recruits gained notoriety among the Chicago tribes and forced themselves into higher ranks, angering the inner circle of the BoS.

Four crime families sprung up from different sections: the Second Chicago Outfit, the Syndicate, the Chinatown Triad, and the Devil's Cartel. In order to secure their safety and peace to research the past technology, the BoS' inner circle created the Treaty of Chicago, which had all the families agree to be friendly to the BoS. The other side of the BoS, created from outsiders, became a kind of police force for Chicago, but instead became a more totalitarian force, angering the tribals and gangs.

The main character starts the game with no memory of past events, except they know they are from the Institute of the Commonwealth. In truth, you are really an android that came to Chicago with your creator, Dr. West, to find the last remaining GECK since the Institute needs one to repair the Commonwealth. The BoS shoots down your Vertibird upon entering the city. Upon finding out what you are, the BoS kidnaps you and Dr. West, but West erases your memory, equips you with a Pip-boy, containing your mission, and kills himself in order to procure the safety of the Institute as well as you.

Just as a note, try not to put things in black. It makes it hard to read.

I'd like that extra "kick" from shooting a shotgun.

What they need to do is bring back critical failure, and since strenght requirments were brought back and I hope they stay for Fallout 4. In the original Fallouts there was always the chance you would drop the weapon, or the weapon would break on you.

So if you aren't strong enough to use the weapon and you fire it, there should be that "kick" critical failure that you would drop it.

Also, how does Bethesda record their gun sounds? Id ike to have my weapons sound more realistic.

It'd be nice of them to record actual gun sounds at a firing range or military base and use or blend them up for non unique and unique guns.

Well think. Should a automatic grenade launcher really never degrade as it shoves tons of grenades through its system?

Yes after 10 000 000 000 whit normal maintenance maybe but not as it is in fallout 3 after 100 shots!
The only time a gun broke was in fallout tactics when a squad-member used a gun they did not have skill on it was a big chans it blow up in their hands.

I am all for having to maintain and repair our weapons. What I like with New Vegas is that notch in a weapons health bar, above it it just needs maintenance and below it it needs repair. I think this should be worked upon more, like when the weapon need maintenance, you don't "repair" it. Instead you use some Weapon Maintenance Kit which has 10 uses (doctor's bag should also have more uses, but that's another story), and one use brings the weapon to fully maintained. If it slips below the notch, the weapon starts to act up, you get jams and the like. You can still use Maintenance Kits, but they "repair" very little and they can't get you over the notch again. You need to repair fully to get over the notch, and then you can maintain it to full health again. While health is below the notch, repairing is dependent on your Repair skill, and while above the notch, maintenance is dependent on the skill of said weapon, say your Guns skill. There should also be Weapon Tool Kits with 10 uses that help with repairing your weapon, since spare parts from another gun won't do it in the long run. If you don't have any Tool kit, you could find stuff like duct tape and glue to do a temporary/bad repair until you find a better way of repairing. This method is riskier, and with a low Repair skill and/or Luck, you might damage the weapon more, making it completely unusable. You'd probably have to find either a new weapon or some master repairman to fix it for you for a hefty fee.

I don't think guns should degrades as fast as they do, make it last somewhat longer. And while they are at it make energy weapons last longer too.
