Fallout 4 Speculations and Suggestions

Mercs get medals, their called caps, except these medals can buy food and ammo, what can your medals do? Yes, heavy winter clothing with an undersized briastplate that hangs too low is obviously superior to pre-war military-grade ceramic-reinforced combat armor. Dont talk down on the Talon, or the Talon will tear your [censored] eyes out.

ROFL  Great speech dude. Yah i like the Talon company Medals there actually worth something oooooooooooooo. oh no he didnt!

Something simple: but I'd like them to include Shields for superior blocking this time around. Particularly riot shields.

I found New Vegas's Caesar's Legion somewhat lacking due to their absence.

We get medals and paper money. When I die, I'll get a monument, you'll just be rotting in the ground. I'll be remembered, you'll be a forgotten footnote of history.

No, when you die, you get stuck under the ground with a generic "fallen soldier" cross over you, along with the thousands of other crosses surrounding it, i'd rather my final resting place be on the field of battle than stuck in some morbid game of tetris.

Fallout in the UK.

Now back to Talon Company, how many times have you not been paid by your employer because he ran off, or died.

Fallout in the UK... would have http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JQkActP-isE soundtrack.

I guess Johnny Rotten would change his mind if he found himself all of a sudden in the world of Fallout. Well, he got his anarchy atleast.

More faction quests, not just one long quest for a faction, have several quests for different members at different areas, and have patrols of each faction spawn in tons of areas.
There should be more ways to gain +rep or -rep.
Like, say there is a Talon Company squad fighting a gang of Hill Watchmen, if you interfere the battle and help Talon Company out then you'll earn some +rep while earning some -rep for the Hill Watchmen.

Improve first person view. Also either reduce the current hud or do away with it all together.

Stimpacks should function like they do in hardcoe mode in New Vegas.

VATS need significant improvement.

Can't you disable the HUD in options (if you can't, you should be able to). Stimpacks work fine the way they are, but they could use a higher addiction chance. I agree about VATS, I currently only use it with grenades, for any other weapon I find it useless.

1. Why not create a throwing weapon that offers higher damage? I don't think nuka grenade is a particularly good idea, but it would provide.

Big guns... I don't fully agree with the removal of it, but Sawyer made a good point with it. Namely, the "late game skill". Still, there's no reason to split and merge if you're going to have the skill in the list anyway. Specialization is good and commendable goal which I hope and support, but when it only serves the purpose of specializing for the sake of it, it loses its "punch". That's my humble opinion about it.

I don't really disagree with the "chemical weapons" idea, but would it offer enough variety in its options and a viable method to run through the game from start to the finish (if keeping in mind the Big Guns' "flaw" of being a late game skill)?
Which gives me the idea of having the split in the skills happen at half away through the skill scale...

Like:
Guns as it is now up to 50 points presenting a general knowledge of the category, and then split it (say... pistol grip, rifle grip and heavy) to present the need to specialize in any of the given subcategories to excel in them and raise the skillpoint cost from there on.
Same with energy weapons (plasma, laser, fire), explosives (set, thrown, projectile), melee (blade, blunt) etc. Or some other variation of it. I know it isn't the best possible idea (just a quick thought), but the premise would support the "useful from the beginning to the end" and "the need to specialize" points of view, as well as the "more skills" point in a way.

The way I understand is that every energy weapon and every gun (and possibly every chemical weapon, if included) is governed by 2 skills, one skill according to size and one according to weapon type and uses the highest skill only. So a laser rifle would be governed by small arms and energy weapons, the one with the highest skill would be used.

Chemical weapons would include acid, liquid nitrogen and fire based weapons. And I hope they have several weapons for each subclass, as well as some unique ones.

I'm thinking about a flame rifle (not sure why a flame weapon would have a rifled barrel) made from the organs (fuel gland+bladder+ducts) of a fire gecko/mutated fire beetle. Possibly with the organs still visible

Well you can remove the hud now, but that also removes little tabs from containers and bodies. The games do not lend themselves to be hudless. Stimpacks are overpowered.

What if your "government" decided it would be easier to send you on a suicide mission instead of paying you, but if you refused, you are hanged. If someone rips off a Talon, the Company exacts payment through seizure, and we of course always charge a large portion of a contract price up-front, and you cant forget about the down payment they have to pay.

Fallout 4 will most likely take place in the Commonwealth even the Fallout wiki owner think it will Ausir and he has contacts within Bethesda so heres my factions list.

The railroad-you join them after escaping the institute as your and anroid made by Madison li who helps you escape.
The institute and its army of androids with trenchcoarts.
The Midwestern bos coming to boston to gain the Institutes technology so they can regain their former power also an interesting story would be the MW BOS vs the Capital Wasteland Bos of the institutes tech.
Talon company!
Reillys rangers! the organistation has reached over 100 members rivaling Talon company in size and influence think Mages guild vs the Necromancers.#
More raider gangs with unique history like Great khans for example.

think Mages guild vs the Necromancers.#

You know, I'd rather not, considering the necromancers were textbook "muahahahaha" evil guys. That kind of crap should not be in the game, ever, IMO.

I do think that Reilly's Rangers could be a bit larger and they could move, after completing their mapping of the DC ruins both from the LW's info and work they did after the Super Mutants mostly died out. Perhaps tensions rose between them and Talon Company during that and they are on a shoot each other on sight basis.

Or maybe they don't shoot each other on sight, but in the game they have a conflicting contract. A group of Reilly's Rangers are contracted to protect a town from any and all threats by the town's mayor, who is a wealthy, but shady character. A couple of Talon Company mercs are given a high-paying job to take the mayor out, and any resistance between them and him. You can find out about the situation if you are a member of Talon Company or if you stumble upon the Talon Company mercs that are overlooking the town and planning their course of action. Talon Company will allow you to scout into the town, and find a security weakness that will allow them to slip in and out to kill the mayor quickly and quietly. From here you can
A. Inform the Reilly's Rangers that are in the town so they can patch any security weaknesses they have, which awards you some caps and Ranger rep, and a decrease in Talon Company rep.
B. Kill the Talon Company mercs and inform the Rangers for some caps and Ranger rep, and obvious decrease in Talon Company rep.
C. Find the security weakness, and get a small amount of caps and Talon Company rep. If you are a member of Talon Company, you can join in on the hit for a larger cut of the job.
D. Kill the mayor yourself, which will give you neg. Reilly's Rangers rep if you don't do it silently, and the Talon Company mercs will give you a small amount of caps, unless you have a high Barter skill which will give you a larger amount of caps. You will get the entire job sum if you are a Talon Company merc, but the other mercs will most likely try to kill you because you took their job.

No matter what you do (unless you kill the mayor), the Talons would make their move in 3 days. Their success would be random if you didn't do anything, they'd fail if you helped the Rangers, and they'd succeed if you helped them.

Basically, the situation between Reilly's Rangers and Talon Company (if there even is one) shouldn't be "Talon Company bad, kill plz" or "Reilly's Rangers good, kill plz".

I'd like another spin-off. I knowm this is about Fallout 4, but I want to share my ideas. Call it something like:

Fallout: New Lands.

It's an old-style RPG like FO and FO 2. It's a mix of RPG and Strategy.

The Story: It takes place 200 years after FO 3, in the fictional town of Gogy in Montana. Many things have been repaired after the Apocalypse. A intelligent man is invited to meet the new president of The United States. Instead, he falls into a trap. When he returns to town, the Brotherhood of Steel has pushed the villagers of town. This man must now help the BoS to overtake NCR territory, help the villagers of Gogy to kick the BoS out of town, help the NCR to overtake Gogy, or overtake all three of them and rule Gogy by himself.

Combat: The combat is real-time, or turn-based, whatever you like. The game also adds a new feature to control a base. When battling against an army, you need to defend your base. Set turret outposts, place robots on the battlefield, and even add automatic snipers.

Interactions: This game is more realistic, and you can interact with anything. You may write your own responses and NPCs reply with just the right answer. It is possible to watch TV, drive a car, or build a base with tools and blocks of cement.

Crafting: You can craft anything out of anything. Wood from cutting down a tree with a chainsaw. Use two blocks of wood for fire, add four pieces of wood to the fire, and you get a camp fire. With a camp fire, you can craft anything at that location. You can cut the wood to get a splinter. Add the splinter to a needle, and add the needle to an axe to get an extra sharp axe, better for cutting wood and starting the cycle again.

northwest commonwealth where every where else got the nuclear desert the northwest gets the nuclear winter lets say 40 years after new Vegas the brotherhood has expanded to the Northwest and built up the crumbling cit of seatlle to almost surpass the commonwealth ( though the outskirts are still a nuclear winter wasteland) and the citidel but the NCR has followed suit but with a new president and administration it's ways have changed almost becoming a replica of the enclave the surrounding areas are still only small devoloping settlements. i havnt thought of who you would be but im still working on it

Ausir knows no more than we do, regardless of whether or not easier it's for him to contact Bethesda. The Vault wiki is a fan-made wiki, with no input from Bethesda.

That said, yeah, it's probably going to take place there, and there's a lot of reasons why people think that. But don't assume it will simply because Ausir and other people not associated with Bethesda think so.
