Fallout 4: Speculations & Suggestions

They are based in DC, which is on the East Coast, and while i say that they could (and probably do) have divisions spreading west, there is no lore on them at the moment


But that is the point of this thread orignally, I say bring back Talon company & there tactics (maybe new ones) in a new Fallout 4. They are a merc company which for all we know could very well have international branches. Put Tasmania in future Fallout game... lol! :)

Anyway, who's to say it has to be confined to the USA? a nuclear war between two superpowers such as China and the US is not really going to be in there own backyards is it? there is global consequences and they should be bought in to a new Fallout game imo.

I also want to see DX10 technology at least in the next Fallout game, DX9 has been around too long now for new games. They have had DX10 capable graphics adapters for the last few years now, I'm sure they are working there way into mainstream systems more and more each day.

1. There's a mod for that on Nexus, called Expanded Level Cap or something like that.
2. Play Fallout 2 or Tactics, we need no more cars.
3. No. Broken Steel was worse than Mothership Zeta.
4. Engine wouldn't handle it.
5. You can do that now. Just open up their inventory and put whatver clothes you want.
6. Again, go play Fallout 2.
7. Play Fallout 3.
8. You speak with text, no need to add sound.

Okay, here are my ideas.

Blade of The West:

The Legate....in the West.


1) I think he means have the game itself have it, so there are more professional perks etc.

2) Why do you say that? Vehicles are fun and could give them the ability to make the map bigger (They have a new engine for it after all)

3) Agreed, I'd atleast like to see a cutscene of an important place that drastically changes due to your actions

4) They have a new one which (probably) can

5) I think he means faction-wise (Boone being able to disguise as a Legionary)

6) I half agree... Starting families, no. Having a girlfriend, sure why not.

7) No comment

8) It'd be cool if you had the option to pick between 6-8 preset voices... If you don't want to don't use it...

If Lyons Brotherhood is in FO4 then rename them to something "other" than BOS, like Lyons Brotherhood or The Guardians or whatever.
If Enclave is in the game then rename them to Enclave Remnants or a new name all together.
Allow us to join up with Talon Company.
Have NO generic raiders at all, all raiders need a name and a backstory, even if it's an all out hostile faction we should be able to get some kind of history from diaries or holotapes.
If Outcasts are in then have them player a bigger role, maybe not let us "join" them but let us work for them as more than just a collection agent.
Include Smugglers from PL and flesh them out.

Either have the factions in the game be fleshed out enough to make sense or don't include them.
If you can't find a good way to implement one of FO4's factions without making them the generic crap like in FO3 then don't have them in the game.

Let us be able to join or help out a lot of factions, raiders, tribals, mercs, assassin organization, black market, towns, military groups, cults et cetera.
Make it have more of an impact if we piss off a faction.
And have it so that if I help Talon Company with a quest then Lyons Brotherhood rep will go down even if I haven't killed any Lyons members.
Why?
Cause why should the rep only go down if we kill a member?
There should be a lot more action and consequence so that we must tread carefully not to piss off the wrong people.

If the Brotherhood and Capital Wasteland do form some sort of new faction, I think some sort of benevolent monarchy would be an interesting result, and something not really yet seen in Fallout. Perhaps the ruling family would be a bloodline merge of the Maxsons (Arthur) and Lyons (Sarah)?

Yeah... Anybody can start a small raider group... And what do most of them do?... They create a name for their raider group... And they have their own personal touch to themselves as well..
I'm not saying "get rid of generic NPC's" I'm just saying that if there is a raider group then I want to know why they're a raider group, where they came from, who they are attacking and what impact they have on the area and factions around them.
I just see no point in having generic raiders like in FO3, they were all just pointless cannon fodder and served no purpose except to emphasize the "post-apocalypse" Hollywood cliché.
And there could still be completely hostile raider groups, all I require from them is a name, some dialogue from the people that they attack and a note or holotape explaining where they're from or what their plans are.

I'd guess that it will still be on the East Coast and will feature the Institute and Lyon's Brotherhood prominantly. I'll guess that characters like Desmond Lockheart, Dr. Li, Sarah Lyons, and Ashur's daughter (new queen of the Pitt) to return. Fawkes may well be a Behemoth by then. Enemies could be anyone from Supermutants to Brits, no clue with that one.

Anything from X to Y is usually just an exaggerated example of possibility.
Super mutants being probable while Brits are not impossible it's not "as" probable so as it's unknown it could be anything from X to Y.

(Or did you ask because it's a slander or some kind of negative input on people from Great Britain? (I have no idea if Brits is a no-no word or not.))

I'd like a return to California, and not just one city like 3 and New Vegas. Just make locations fast travel across large distances. I'd like to see the Chosen One alive as an NPC in the game. He/she'd be an insane badass even in old age(I think about 60 by the time of Fallout NV) and control Arroyo and possibly other cities. Also, experimental discs said that there were super mutants created before the war...perhaps we find one of them, the oldest Super Mutant out there that's managed to avoid the Unity and Persecution?

Well Britain is indeed an industrialised, advanced country with a penchant for Empires so I wouldn't rule them out - but it was more of an exaggeration really. The point of my post is that Bethesda created the East Coast's lore completely. I'm sure they wouldn't just move somewhere completely different without tying up any of those loose ends.

Chosen One could very much be alive.
Arroyo became New Arroyo at the end of FO2.
And it's unknown how long a super mutant can live but considering that Fawkes is still wearing a V87 jumpsuit I'd say they can live very very very long.

I was just asking because, well the idea of Brits/The British (or if you want to be old fashoned/Indian, Britishers) invading the United States is pretty silly, although if we managed to survive and rebuild (we are a hardy bunch who survied the Blitz so that's not a huge strech of the imagination) we might have thoughts of reclaiming old parts of the Empire which presumably would be up for grabs. However I feel we would be far more interested in killing our sit-com rival neighbours the French first before thinking of setting sail for the New World.

Myeah due to the Resource Wars I think that Europe has to worry too much about Europe to attack America.

That being said, 200 years is a long time so who knows what's happened in Europe. Maybe large empires have emerged, spanning several countries and are now locked in war (again).

Beth could probably hire Obsidian to create a spinoff set in Europe. It couldn't of course be labeled as a "proper" Fallout game as the feel of the 50's Americana is part of the setting proper, but it could end up as a nice post-apoc RPG set in the same universe, and shed some light to what happened outside of the US.

This part?
His son (if it's canon) died in 2316, which is 35 years from now.

"2221 - March 23: The "Chosen One", grandson of the Vault Dweller, is born. "
This means that he should be just about 60 years old.

Nothing in the http://fallout.wikia.com/wiki/Timeline mentions that the Chosen One died at all. :shrug:
