Fallout 4: Speculations & Suggestions

Post » Tue Dec 06, 2011 1:50 am

That's pretty cool... How about Reege, a large mutated (not a supermutant) creature who stands at eight feet tall... When he was a baby he somehow ended up in a pool of radiation which transformed him (the year was 2098)... He was imprisoned by a group called the Anti-Dangerous Mutant Society (A-DM Society) as a child (2104-2110)... Eventually he escaped and formed a small army of other mutated freaks who escaped the A-DM Society's imprisonment (2110-2293, if that's the year the game is)... If you help him end the A-DM Society then you can recruit him as a follower.

He wears the slave rags and chains that he wore before and during his escape. When asked about it he says, "I am still a prisoner of that society until I end their rain over all mutants. I am not worthy to wear anything put prison rags until their destruction, and even then I will where these rags until I die." which means he wears no other armor.

I'm getting a mental image of a hillfolk with gigantism... Any close to your mental image of him?

LOL... Clothing wise alittle but he looks more like a paleish green hulk, but having more fat, less muscle and no hair... But I can understand you imagining that. And his voice (almost always) sounds kind of like the guy in 300 who yelled, "THIS IS SPARTA!" while he was yelling that.

I was thinking... for mutants his Charisma (or Persuasion as you call it) is 10

I think he should have a weapon (many other mutants like him have it) a warhammer. It is basically the hammer from Thor but has no leather (metal instead) and doesn't give you any super/godly powers.

He didn't call Charisma for Persuasion. In Van Buren, the Speech skill was divided into Persuasion and Deception.

And are you saying that Thor's hammer, http://www.runestone.org/images/NewPics/Thor.jpg, is a http://www.by-the-sword.com/acatalog/images/cd-167b.jpg? :o

I was thinking up an idea of a rich man who controls the Mob in a burrow of New York City (I was thinking Brooklyn, but it should be called New Brooklyn). He's incredibly charismatic with speech skill 100 and his SPECIAL stats are:

S-2
P-3
E-2
C-10
I-10
A-2
L-10

(he's very easy to kill)

You could join him (well his gang and you could eventually move up enough to meet him) or you could kill him or fight against his gang.

If new ones, how about a big fella with Tesla Metal Armor MK II and a stuffed bull head for a helmet?
This guy is... Really hostile... Like, really hostile if you say the wrong thing to him... But if you choose your wording right he is an all right fellah.
He's a former BOS member that together with his gang The Lords, collect all technology they can find, reassemble it or repair it and then sells away the tech to various factions, giving no one an upper edge and leaving them at a stalemate while he collects their precious money.

How about his name is The Lord or something...

By the way the A-DM Society is fine with ghouls (as long as the aren't feral) and supermutants (ones like Unlce Leo and Fawkes who are friendly)...

Dead serious.
This guy is a little loopy and believes to be a demi-god anyway, and with the stats he has he practically is.
Another reason for him sporting the stuffed bull head is for intimidation.
I mean, if some big muscular guy with a Plasma Caster walked up to me sporting a stuffed bulls head he'd scare me half to death.

Phillip DeFranco should be the radio host for the next fallout game.

I don't even think you have to give him a real script. Give him a list of events and the proper fallout context and he's good to go.

If they stay on the East Coast, they can make it a direct sequel to 3 and reference NPCs, events, locations from FO3. FO2 did that by staging the game near FO1 locations.

New York, Boston and Philly all come to mind. That being said, it is over 200 years after the war. Chernobyl is starting to recover a bit already in the real world. I'm hoping FO4 shows some semblance of life in the world. Lets see a few trees, even if they aren't super healthy or vibrant.

MUTANT TREES FROM OASIS PLEASE!!!!

CHILDREN OF BOB/HERBERT!!!

How about we talk about what details you want about specific characters? (You know memorable characters unlike what F3 and Vegas were overflowing with)...

How about a Bounty Hunter who's HQ is on the edge of an Enclave remnants town (not evil tropps, civilians who made it out and carved their own home in the wastes). They allow any wasteland human to live there (to disguise them being ex-Enclave members) but don't allow anybody with any mutation their, and the Bounty Hunter is a ghoul but where's a gas mask all of the time...

The puppet man from the penny arcade comic on the fallout website. I would love to meet him in FO4, and possibly make him a companion.

He seems like a madman... AWESOME!!!

How about (maybe) an Ex-Legionary (Depending on where it is) who left the Legion due to moraltiy issues and started up an Anti-Legion group to topple what's left (funded by the NCR)

How about a West Coast supermutant companion in an East coast game? An intelligent one. Basically, he started wandering after the events of FO1, south to parts of Mexico, North to Oregon/Washington/Canada, through the 4 corners, etc. for over 100 years, settling down in multiple places, only to pack up and go after a couple of years. Perhaps he could tell us a story about one of his many exploits about every in-game week. I enjoy super mutant companions, and I feel like West Coasts muties have more room to be compelling than the East Coast muties.

for me the newer fallout games felt very hollow. the story is there, but i couldn't get attached to the story. the story isn't bad either. a big part of that i feel is because there is no main character. you play a nobody. you have no name, personality, or dialogue. i feel this pretty much invalidates the story completely. why should i care? there is no emotion in anything that happens in the world. i believe if bethesda just fixed this issue, fallout 4 could be the most amazing thing ever.

p.s. test your game, and try harder in eliminating bugs and loading screens, atleast long ones.

I meant: So you want them to rip out the RPG aspect of us being whomever we want to be and instead be forced to play as a static character with a static background? (ME1, ME2, DA2)

YOU give him a face at the start of the game, YOU give him his personality thougth YOUR choices you make, and YOU give him a voice by reading the dialogue aloud in your best impersonation of Leslie Phillips, ok, only I do that, BUT STILL!

I think they should add the choice whether you want a dozen or so voices for your character (I tshould be optional, so you can choose not to give him a voice), allow you to have a very customizeable background (you choose whther he was raised by junkies, raiders, or.... deathclaws? and each choice in their life you make leads to new and different options when chossing a background, and give your character face emotions, like confution or anger depending on the dialogue you recieve...
