Fallout Spin-Off idea

This has probably been mentioned many times before, but the search is flood controlled, and I wasn't really sure what terms to type in anyway
In advance, if a mod redirects me to another existing topic: Thank you!

According to the canon, the Vault Dweller vanishes from Arroyoro near the end of his life: What do you think happened to him?
Personally I think the answer could make for an intriugeing, and original fallout 4: because the more you advance in time in a series the more problems you cause by keeping characters and factions alive, and I doubt that Bethesda will let the Enclave go anywhere.

Personally, I think he either went back to the Vault, and tried to get in, I think that he probably would, if he didn't kill the overseer, at least.

Or maybe he went on to have a second family out in the wasteland, mentoring a new adoped son, and possibly helping him overcome impossible odds to save the world in a discreat way, or just complete lots of side quests. Or maybe they created a cure for this or that. Or maybe etc.

I understand the canonical poblems a game like this would cause, but it seems like such a neat use for the Fallout 3 engine.

I'd prefer them to leave the fate of Vault Dweller open.

By the way, he does actually appear as an old man in Fallout: Brotherhood of Steel, and is an unlockable player character.

I know what you mean, but it is preferable to moving the Enclave half-way across the continent every time the PC wrecks their plans.

But, in the end, it is probably best that they do leave his fate open. At least that way it remains as romantic as the entire story:

Vault Dweller: Alas, if I must leave, then I will, but I shall start anew in the wasteland!
Oveseer:

Anyway, it was a pretty dumb idea, I was just getting a bit nostalgic over the original games and forgot that changing the setting/tmeline etc. will never be like playing Fallout for the first time.

I am looking forward to New Vegas, especially if Chris Avellone ends up working on it. Hopefully it will create a healthy balance of old and new. ANd have fewer bugs. And moe mutants that aren't idiots/monsters.

I'm not sure if this is documented in the canon, but do we know what kind of journey the Vault Dweller made from Vault 13 to founding Arroyo? If not, it could make an okay spin-off story. Wouldn't be great to be an RPG though, since it's story could become quite linear. Besides that, if someone ever decides to make this kind of game, it better be someone who is really careful with the story and canon, else it would be complete and utter crap.
