fallout 4 suddenly started crashing on launch

Post » Fri Dec 04, 2015 1:55 pm

hello, a day or so ago i beat the main campaign mission and then took a break, when i went back and opened the game it would turn my screen black like it was about to launch and then just dissapear. i have managed to get it to work on occasion for like 10 minute periods. i have made sure all of my drivers have been updated. at first when i got it to work sparratically it had horrible screen tearing and lag, now when i get it up it appears normal followed by a crash a few minutes later. if you could supply any aid in fixing this issue it would be greatly appreciated.

I just started having this problem too half an hour ago. I'm backing up my save files and going to try the new beta update, which supposedly fixes this "Fixed crash related to jumping into water and reloading saved games". I'll report back if successful.

I had this problem and solved it by uninstalling (verifying the game file did not work). In addition, I had to delete the last game save as it was corrupt.

Ditto, went back to an earlier save point after deletion of corrupted file. The patch doesn't seem like it did anything for me. Back up and running over here, thank goodness. :foodndrink:
