Hey guys. I'm an Elder Scrolls series fan and just been looking into Fallout a lot more. Both games seem interesting to me but Fallout 3 seems to catch my attention more than Fallout NV . Can anyone give me their opinions on both games and let me know the pros and cons so I can make a better informed decision when i decide to purchase one of the two?

Honestly though, get Fallout 3 first, play through it then get New Vegas later on. New Vegas is the superior of the two but better to play F3 first then NV so you can see how many miles ahead New Vegas really is.

On a separate note, these type of threads should be considered flame-baiting, as more often than not they tend to get locked due to the reasons stated above and thus should be closed on sight

a very quick comparison before this turns into a mass debate:
F3: better world / more fun, dangerous, rewarding exploration / (a few) better DLCs / more of a 'fallout-ey' atmosphere / crafted weapons are fun / moar enclave
NV: better story / much better writing / interactive factions / more replayability / choices have alot more consequences and impact on the world / hardcoe (survival) mode

obviously most is down to opinion, but whatever.
both are great but personally i like NV alot more.

great comparison, you really narrowed it down. I prefer Fallout 3 though, to each their own
