Nearly every fan of the original Fallouts would have liked it if they made Van Buren. But, that's not happening, a fact people have come to accept. The closest thing we'll ever be getting to it is New Vegas and it's DLCs. Obsidian, if they ever make more Fallout games for Bethesda, will likely want to try new ideas and new settings, so New Vegas is truly the closest we're going to get.

That said, last I checked there is a Fallout 2 mod in development that is trying to re-create as much of Van Buren as possible. Might want to keep an eye on that.

Its knida sad that they didn't finish Van Bruen as it looked really interesting.

It's being dissected by Obsidian for New Vegas so even if they wanted to make it it would probably contradict lore and end up being semi-canon like Tactics.
But yes, I'd like Van Buren.
I'd like it more than I'd like Vegas.
But it's never going to happen.

I would've very much liked if VB was made back in the day. Today, I'd very much prefer if they made a game in that style to begin with.

Not today. I feel like its moment has passed, although I wouldn't mind seeing games that use similar combat systems to early Fallouts or JA2.

No, let the ghosts of the past rest.
