Fallout: Tactics Multiplayer

Is it possible to host Fallout Tactics: Brotherhood of Steel through a server box, or is the process just matchmaking?

Like a dedicated server? I don't know if that is possible but it seems Tactics is basically using P2P (peer to peer) for it's multiplayer. You can host a room and wait for others to join or you can search for a room yourself.

Multiplayer was already dead by the time I got around to getting a pentium 2 to run it. Stupidly bought the game years before without having the correct specs. I was really looking forward to playing a multiplayer Fallout too.

Yes but I haven't played it yet, I'm working my way up from Fallout 2 since I've only beaten Fallout and Fallout 3.

Make sure you patch Fallout 2 to the latest. I don't know if they fixed those annoying crashes on the world map.

Highlight for starting skill suggestion for purposes of starting tutorial level.

And some advice is to take unarmed or melee weapons as a skill. The beginning "tutorial" level is uncannily hard even with either of them skilled. I've played through at least three times and I never played without either of them. Save after every encounter during it.

I bought the retail collection and I believe that is up to date with the latest patches, if not, I also have the Good Old Games versions installed as well which is the latest version. I don't know why I have both.

Thanks for the tip!

If you guys want to coordinate, http://www.gameranger.com/ would be a good place to do it over. It allows you to have a room hosted before people actually get in game, easier to coordinate that way, and they support Fallout: Tactics. If you want to play sometime friend me at McL0v1N 42.
