Fallout 1, 2, & Tactics promo giveaway on GOG

Post » Fri Dec 13, 2013 9:28 am

Good Old Games has had Fallout for free before but never to my knowledge have they given away all three classic games at once. They're usually pretty cheap anyway, but if you've been stalling up til this point, check it out http://www.gog.com/promo/fallout_series_giveaway_winter_promo_2013.

Good luck getting your hands on them considering how screwed up the GOG servers are right now. I can't even access my game library.

This is definitely the time to get them though; GOG will be removing the games from their catalog this month since they don't have a publishing deal with Bethesda. You'll still be able to download them from your library if you have them, but you won't be able to buy them anymore.

I had no problem accessing but since I am near the bandwidth cap I have horrible speed. I have to wait until tomorrow to download from a coffee shop I go to.

Can finally play Tactics after all these years. Unfortunately the downloader isn't starting for some reason. Will try again later.

Thanks for the post.

I went to get Tactics (already knew I owned the others), and found out that I already owned Tactics and had totally forgotten about it. ;) I must have bought it as part of a bundle. I tried it when it came out and was disappointed because I wanted a Fallout RPG, but I think I'll have to give it another try.

How I got in to the GoG servers:

1. Log in

2. type the url for each game individually (/game/Fallout_2 at the end)

3. Put them all in your shopping cart individually and "purchase" them

4. They will be in your library so you can wait until the servers are back up to download them later

When I tried to navigate the website by clicking links and stuff, it was all screwed up. Took me around 10 tries to even get logged in. I'm also assuming these are the European versions of the games? So you might have to install the child mod to make it like the developers intended them to be.

Thanks for this. :D Already have the collection, but Tactics has a habit of telling me I need to insert a CD that's already in the computer. :sadvaultboy: Gonna nab these while I can.

Actually downloads work much better than the site itself, so once you manage to buy them, you should be able to download as long as you can navigate to it on their site (I've only been using direct download though, not the downloader)

After a few attempts to log in, I was finally able to add Tactics to my library but I haven't tried downloading it yet.

I was unaware that Beth was getting the rights to the first 3 games until I looked into your comment :(

This is amazing! I bought Fallout 1 and 2 not long ago, and now I don't even have to but Tactics!
