Fallout Tactics... 2?

Post » Wed May 02, 2012 6:34 pm

So I was hanging out at http://fallout.wikia.com/wiki/Fallout_Wikia minute ago, just reading articles and wasting time when I found this: http://fallout.wikia.com/wiki/Fallout_Tactics_2 I have just one simple question: Why didn't this get made?

This looks like such a great [censored] game. Even if it was just a rehash of FOT, the story and setting is enough to make a great game all by its lonesome. Mutant plants? Giant, bipedal crocodiles? Ultra-elitist BoS? Yes please.

Help me out here. Why didn't this get made?

Simply put, Tactics didn't make enough money for Interplay to believe it warranted a sequel.

Tactics 2 probably would have been like the burned game, so I'm glad it didn't get made.

Yeah, along with Tactics not being popular with fans at the time and Van Buren could've been a factor in its cancellation.

That's a little extreme. It probably would've been recieved as well as Tactics was at the worst.

Well the new people from Interplay don't know anything about Fallout, only Black Isle could create the mastery that is Fallout 2. (My most favorite game ever) :fallout:

F:T 2 probably would've been made by Micro Forte like Fallout: Tactics was.

Has anybody ever noticed that there have never been two Fallout games made by the same company? Either they become a child company (Black Isle), go under new ownership (Interplay), hire another company to do it (Micro Forte and Obsidian), or another company buys it (Bethesda).

Yeah it was.
So Bethesda will hopefully end this trend of having different people develope each game, I can't believe we've had six (five canon) games where developers changed each time.

Black Isle and Obsidian are the best. Followed by Micro Forte.

Irrelevant (IMO) They've made three games since FOT and only one of them had a plot that's half as good as this one sounds. At any point they could have used this plot/setting to make a game. So why didn't they?

The plot doesn't sound all that great and I think they might do something along those lines sometime in the future minus the MWBoS as the protagonists.

I remember reading that for Tactics 2 they were gonna take a lot more lore into consideration so it didn't cause a fuzz like Tactics 1 did.
I'd really like Tactics 2 to be made, Bethesda, hire Micro Forté again!

Youre not thinking hard enough, Rockstar is the right answer(for current times)!

Im sorry Gabe but that wont happen because bethesdas main objective is selling and games that make people think a little harder then usssual dont sell very well.

Tactics 2 definitely had potential, it's a shame it was never made.

New Vegas makes people think. Its far more intelligent than Fallout 3, and it out sold Fallout 3 in the first couple months. I think what you meant to say is Bethesda isn't intelligent enough to make intelligent games that get people to think.

Fallout Tactics 2 looked interesting. Not to late to make another Fallout Tactics type game, yet this time take off where Fallout Tactics left off. I want a canon ending to Tactics. I have been waiting 11 years!

How about EA, I hear they are wonders at making great games aimed at pleasing their fans rather than an oblivious audience :P

Heres one that had potenial that never got to see the light of day: http://fallout.wikia.com/wiki/Fallout:_Brotherhood_of_Steel_2

Just FYI: That's flamebaiting.

Calling someone else a troll is considered a flamebait, one should report a potential troll to the mods and let them sort if out, not call the user out on it as it can lead to way more forum rules being broken.
