Fallout: tactics

Post » Mon Jan 24, 2011 4:21 am

Okay, so I got fallout: tactics a few days ago and I'm enjoying it so far.

I'm now in the St. Louis level where I have to evacuate a squad. The problem is that my APC is broken; it has 25 hitpoints left, and they can't be evacuated any other way. Due my stupidity I only have a savegame after the APC crashed.

So is there a way so I can repair it(sadly, I've run out of repair kits)? I'm ready to cheat or anything else. Or is there a way to restart the mission?

Thanks :)

P.S.: I hope I posted this in the right forum.

I saw a thread recently about this part of the game...Good Luck! :) It wasn't Easy apparently! Yet to get there myself. Still thats a pretty cool statement "my APC is broken" :)

Did you grab the tool kits that are at the beginning of the level?

You may have to finish this mission the old fashioned way. Meaning, keep the APC out of harms way, and clear a path for it with your squad. That's what I had to do. I screwed up my saves here too. I won't lie to you, it was brutal. Just make sure you save before and after any combat you get into. If you get past a SM squad, you don't want to have to face them again. Watch out for their damned Rocket Launchers. I was playing a sniper team, and didn't have any heavy weapons. After this level was over, Stitch became very good at heavy weapons. I learned my lesson the hard way. If you do have heavy weapons, you might have an easier time than I did. I don't think you can restart the mission without reverting to a previous save, but I'm not 100% sure. Maybe someone will chime in and call me an idiot.

Give 'em hell soldier. And get that fire team out in one piece! Dismissed.

Sadly I had to start over my entire game; I searched almost the entire area for tool kits(I had already used the ones that you can find at the starting point), but nothing. I had no choice...

But I see it the bright way, now I understand more of the game then I did before, so the hole experience will be more fun and I won't be making the same mistake twice. Thanks for the help ;-).
