I guess it could be done, but who would you target enemies? Scroll through them until you get to the one you want?

Also, it would be cool because then more people would get to play these great games.

I was thing the touch screen would be just for your control panel, INV, Skilldex, HP the usual and the top screen would show everything else.

Nice idea, it would be perfect for Fallout 1 & 2 if done correctly. As for tactics... let's forget that one ever happened.

That's a little unfair. Despite taking liberties with the canon, Tactics was still a good game in its own right. To be honest, I had more fun with the combat in that game than FO1 & 2.

I have had the same idea, it would be awesome.

When the gameplay is considered, Tactics was quite enjoyable.

DSi has both screens with touch sensitivity, maybe they could become DSi exclusives?

Unfortunately, I believe you're asking on the wrong place.

While Bethesda has majority control of the Fallout brand and is the one who determines how it's future will play out, Interplay still has control over Fallout 1, 2, and Tactics. Hell, they just released another compilation over at their website.

Still, not a bad idea.

would be cool but i'm afraid the resolution of the ds would not suffice...they would have to redo the
graphics which is unlikely to happen.

DSi has both screens with touch sensitivity

no it doesn't

Nintendo might have a problem with that. If they do it, somebody too young may get their hands on it. If they do it and censor aspects of the game, people will be pissed.

Why? They are all available for the PC, will pretty much run on ANY hardware, and you can find them used...CHEAP. Just do an E-bay search for Fallout and you'll see the trilogy can be had for < $20 US.

Interplay only have the right to sell FO 1/2/Tactics/BOS, this was confirmed by Chris Taylor on the official boards.. They are not allowed to make any changes to the game at all. This includes patches, much less ports.

Why? Nintendo has Dead Rising on Wii now, and that could get in the wrong hands. GTA ds? True, and it has drug dealing.

It would fit the system amazing, and maybe it could be redone a bit with extras and all.

I was thinking the same thing. Release 1, 2 & Tactics as a package...that would be a great show of some of the DSi's new features would would definitely sell a lot of units...at least among the more mature crowd.

no, handheld gaming the screen is tiny they have to scale the game down alot imagine walking around shady shands in a tiny ds screen. Beth should re-release and make a fallout collection thats fully patched and works with latest pc's since they own the license

Hardly.

it would be awesome. No, you cant just "convert" the whole thing and then shove it out the door. The graphic elements would have to be reqorked and redesigned, and all the content would have to be entered into a DS engine - that is either licensed or built. In short - tons of work. But using the same story, humor, iso-perspective, turn-based play and other content would be awesome. Hell, I was thinking the same thing this morning and did a search that brought me to this thread because I didnt want to rehash an old topic into a new thread

Yeah I have had this same idea.

However, I think only Fallout 1 could make it. They would have to reduce the resolution and cut out all the video and most of the voice work.

Fallout 2 I don't think would, I think it would be far too big, with too much content.

And second, Fallout 2 has much more advlt content than the first one. Nintendo doesn't have a problem with releasing M rated games these days, but I doubt they would release Fallout 2 in it's current state.

I am curious, how many people who want this actually played 1&2 before Beth ever had anything to do with Fallout?

Me. In fact, I held myself a little marathon to see if I could complete 1-2 (with Restoration Project) and Tactics back-to-back before Fallout 3 came.

I succeeded.
