Fallout Tactics timeline question

Post » Fri May 27, 2011 10:04 am

I never did play Fallout 1 but figured out the story from playing Fallout 2 hundreds of times & reading about F1. I never heard much about Chicago that I can remember from F2 and thats where Fallout Tactics takes place.

But is there any mention of BOS in Chicago in Fallout 1 or 2 that anyone can remember? Any characters in Fallout Tactics mentioned anywhere?

Chicago was all Fallout Tactics. To my knowledge nothing was stated about the Brotherhood sending denizens to the East in Fallout's 1 & 2.

Tactics takes place between FO1 and FO2, but the events, places and characters from Tactics were not mentioned in these games, since they were not even made up yet.

The only character to appear in FO1 and Tactics (and to be mentioned in FO2) is Chris Avellone:

But he's a special case, since he's a reference to one of the developers.

Tactics actually spans from Chicago to Mout Cheyenne in Colorado.

Rothchild does mention the Midwestern Brotherhood from Chicago and considers it rogue.

heh the DC Brotherhood is more then likely rogue to the California one. and i'd rather side with the DC/Midwest ones then the California one.

That was kind of the point in Tactics. The end video makes that pretty clear. In The End there can be only one master.

The "rogue cells" are much more humane than the original West Coast Brotherhood. The splinter groups are concerned about helping the local people, and the original Brotherhood is concerned only with acquiring new technology. The original Brotherhood couldn't give a sh1t less about anyone else but themselves..

Yep, true but not entirely true. because of the course that they had chosen They were not able to muster enough people to become masters of the wasteland. This made them overly cautious and afraid to commit because they did not have it lose. They basically lost their nerve. Selfishness was part of it but really they just did not have the resources to lose. In Tactics The Chicago based brotherhood took a different course recruiting locals to bolster their numbers and formed alliances while gathering Technology. They also knew that who ever got their hands on vault 0 would be the masters of the wasteland and they made this their primary goal with the idea of using it as their main base and using its resources to restore civilisation.
