I was browsing the Fallout wiki, and I saw a weapon from Fallout Tactics called the http://fallout.wikia.com/wiki/MEC_Gauss_minigun. Does anyone know what the "MEC" in this weapon's name means?

The description mentions that it is of Chinese design, so I assume the "C" means China.

I'd imagine it'd stand for Microbial Electrolysis Cell, it's probably what powers the weapons projectile.
