Fallout 4 taking away your social life?

Post » Tue Dec 01, 2015 9:20 am

Well I'm a very social guy, I'm usually out with friends every night after work either at the bar, hitting up girls, fishing, hunting, doing crazy Youtube worthy stuff etc. But ever since Fallout 4 came out I haven't been out once with my friends. Its not that I don't want too, I usually tell myself at work when I get home I'm gonna go out with the guys. But I end up saying I can play F4 for a quick 20 minutes then go out, but 20 minutes ends up being 4+ hours. Its been over 2 weeks Bethesda thanks for this new drug, I'm kinda hoping my PS4 kicks the bucket so I can get rid of this addiction for a while lol.

I am a pretty 'social' dude myself. I work a lot and take care of 'advlt things' on my two days off. I tend to play only at night, since I work until 7pm. I have noticed though that my conversations now are only about Fallout.

I love it...most people don't..

I have no become a Fallout hermit..

I have logged 212 hrs since it came out. The timing is perfect, my mother-in-law has been visiting for the last two weeks.

What the [censored] is a social life? Is that a new type of synth? Never mind don't tell me I'll find it eventually.

Yes it is, but I don't care lol. Most of my social interaction over the last couple of weeks has been discussing fallout with my friends.

I'm all social-ed out by the time I get back from work and/or school, so the time remaining is MINE and the absolute last thing I would want is to be around other people on my time (barring special pre-planned occasions.) So if I weren't playing Fallout 4, I'd be playing something else, or reading, or doing stuff around the house, or some other solitary activity. If it weren't for the whole money thing, I'd aspire to be a full-time hermit. :)

"Work" "Social life" "Talking to people"

These all sound like familiar terms, but I can't quite place them.

Winters are long and rough on me with the lack of daylight. Thank God I have Fallout 4. They'll find me like that lady I read about one time. She sat on the couch for 6 years and became part of the fabric and died when they tried to seperate her from it to get her to a doctor.

I never really had a social life. I spend all my time with my wife. She's even beside me watching Netflix when I play.

Been that way for 25 years since the 8 bit Nintendo. :D

My social life isn't quite extensive in the first place outside of family. This Thanksgiving week Fallout 4 did not take away from time spend with family one bit.

However, it has played a hand in my already existing procrastination in my academic work.

I might have been concerned about the length of time I've spent in the game, but since the weather for the last couple of weeks has been about as bleak, wet, windy, miserable and depressing as I've ever known in my 50 years, it couldn't have come at a better time. I work 10 hour shifts, and when I'm not working my normal job I'm doing "homers", but I've still managed to clock-up nearly 80 hours. Small potatoes compared to some of you, I know. :)

Put it this way I just got the game friday night and when I stopped playing last night the time told me I've already put 16:32 into my first tile.

It has taken away from some valuable study time . . . yes, I know that's bad. Two weeks until the semester is over then I can go nuts for a month and a half, but it hasn't taken away from my family responsibilities of husband and father.

That would imply that I had a social life before Fallout 4 came out. :sadvaultboy:

What social life?

Seriously though, I'm an introvert. I get all the social contact I need at work.
