Fallout: The Capital Wastleland

First off, I want to give you a little info about this fic.

This fic takes place within Fallout 3 and follows Jake, a good Karma character, who is searching for his father James in the Wasteland during the Main Quest while he encounters Raiders, Super Mutants, the powerful Enclave and a vengeful Deathclaws. Luckily, he won't take the journey alone and is assited by the Followers leading to an ultiamte battle with the Enclave.

The story follows very closely to my choice of character speech and perspective but will have a few changes as in terms of the following:

* Jake will recruit/encounter Followers in different fashions. For example, instead of encountering Dogmeat in the Scrapyard, Jake encounters him with his owner alive until they encounter Raiders for the first time when Jake first exits the Vault and instead of buying Sergent RL-3, Jake repairs him while in Rivet City.

* Scenes will be expanded to give the story a more novel/movie feeling. For example, when Jake first encounters a Deathclaw, he stabs out its eye with a railroad spike, something you CAN'T do in the game it's self without modding/hacking and in one instance Jake enters a battle with Autunm and the other effect of the mysterious injection will be revealed as a type of steriod that increase his strength to superhuman.

* And lastly, this story follows straightly the Main Guest but there will be a few twists and turns. One instance, instead of fighting a bunch of Mutants and a Behemoth when first getting to GNR like in the game, jake will fight the said foes AFTER talking to Three Dog.

Above all, I hope you'll enjoy it. It will be posted on DeviantART and FanFiction.net and this site in full form later this year or early next year.

Yeah, I guess. But, what do you think about the idea of the fic?

A lot of people don't like fanfics about the lone wanderer, it's been before. The fact that it follows main quest makes unoriginal and boring. Most of us know how the story goes, even with those few twist your going add. So no, I don't think this is a good idea, in my opinion at least, hope you don't take any of this in offense.

None, taken and I'd admit a story like this has been done over and over dozens of times but I really love the story of this game and has great potential. Also, This WON'T be my only FO3 project. This story might/will followed by sequels based on the DLC and will feature my OC and his followers. I'm gonna work on them when I get the Game of the year set since my game is going on the fritz lately.

I havent read any of those yet, but since you are willing to add a good few changes while still going along with the story, im pretty interested. Seems more realistic then how they made it. People will die with one bullet to the head, correct?

Well, if you really love it, you should go with it, because if you really want to decide this, you should decide it for yourself and not let other people do it for you.

Yep, pretty much. I love the game but it seems like to limite din some espects, for example, I keep forgetting that a bonesaw CAN'T be used as a weapon but it's just a "junk" item. So, I'm giving this story a more realistic approach.
