Fallout: The Wasteland Chronicles

Post » Fri Mar 04, 2011 1:29 am

I am quite new at writing stories so only constructive criticism please.

This series will be about various characters and how they survive in the wasteland. As the series goes on I will update this post with character stories.

First story coming soon.

Welcome, Power Armor...Is this your first fanfic by the way? Just curious.

Regardless, The Wasteland Chronicles is a great idea. Just surviving in the wastes, but um. I would scratch the backgrounds, their great in RP's do give other people a quick look on what your characters about, but not when writing fan fic. Their back story could be used later in a segment to give emotional value to one of the characters, if you say it flat out from the start that chance is loss.

Other than that, there's not much to say as this was pretty short. Once you get a longer entry up I'll give some more valuable pointers, possibly.

Anyway, keep it up Power Armor.

P.S. Subject five seems like Subject Zero from ME2, just saying...

I have a little experience in fanfic but not much.

Ok then, so I'll remove the backgrounds and I might post a character's first chapter today.

Oh, and Subject 5 is the general clichéd mutant, but I'm working on developing her beyond that.

Thanks for the help and advice.

DAMN! Yttrium already gave you advice.

Sounds interesting though, I really like the idea of a character just surviving for some time. A lot of people are quick to jump to paramilitary groups and Power Armor and Plasma Rifles and an Army and all this, and it makes a lot of stories become Same-ish if you know what I mean.

I'm definitely a fan of mutants/ghouls too. Maybe I'm weird but I usually have more empathy for a mutant/ghoul from the get go and find them pretty interesting.

Keep writing, keep thinking about your story as you go through your day, have fun, and Happy New Year :)
