Fallout. Time is being wasted.

==========

Okay okay. bear with me a bit here.

its been. 4 years. sence the last official Fallout title was released (fallout New Vegas). But not made my Bethesda. Made by Obsidian Entertainment - a Company that was formed by some of the original creators of Fallout 1 and 2 (maybe Fallout Tactics also), after Interplay had to disban Black Isle Studios, which these creators where apart of.

okay even then. BETHESDA hasnt touched the fallout title sense 2008.

then we have the introduction of Bethesda's new game engine with Havok physics (same used in S.T.A.L.K.E.R. and Fallout 3 - New Vegas :Havok physics:) wich was used in the game Skyrim. which released in 2011.

Bethesda was not the original creator of the fallout title. Interplay Entertainment's Black Isle Studios was. they where able to crank out new info on an upcoming game relating to fallout atleast a year after the release of the last title.

-

comparing Interplay and Bethesda. alright. i know that they are very diffrent companies, in size and game development genre. but i have to get this across.

-Bethesda. a power house that keeps things titly time oriented and works on most 2 titltes at once. no idea why. has lots of money and lots of personal time for some reason.

-Interplay. a legendary company thats been making award winning games before Bethesda ever could. has had 12 devopment houses under its care. (one of which was Black Isle which developed the first Fallouts -1 and 2-)

===

heres what i dont get. Bethesda bought the Fallout title from Interplay Entertainment. but Bethesda doesnt own ANY development houses. Bethesda is a developer AND a publisher.

-so a publishing company opens up a development house. so that the developed games will be orginized and published by the key parent, interplay in this case.

-this is a key to game development and releasing. wile you have several game development groups makeing games - lets say 4 development houses are making games. then you have FOUR games being made at the same time by Interplays RPG standard genre. then the games when finished get published. then the next game3 is finished gets published. then the NEXT game finished, gets published. its sort of like mass production on entertainment.

what does this have to do with anything?

well look at Bethesda now. they make Elder Scrolls, now Fallout, and some times some personal non series titles - that Bethesda Developes AND Publishes.

so. wouldnt it make more sense if Bethesda became a publisher. then opened up development houses to make Elder Scrolls, Fallout, and individual titles all at the same time?

no? but Interplay did it. and their NET worth, income, and budgeting has ALWAYS been much MUCH lower then Bethesdas. because Bethesda is a IN TURN a publisher owned by ITS parent ZeniMax Media with a $1.2 BILLION value as of 2012. wile Interplay is only at $1.4 Million as of 2010.

---------

okay there are some other ways around this stuff.

so like what Bethesda did with New Vegas. they let a 3rd part developer comprised of formor Black Isle developers make the next title in the series. this company is Obsidian Entertainment.

SOOO. just because Bethesda is taking there sweet time like they always do. and no actual proof other then documents that state "War. War Never Changes" on one page. its safe to say that Bethesda could strike a deal with another company to make another title in fallouts legacy.

in my opinion. this company should be InXile Entertainment. ... InXile Entertainment is a company founded by formor Interplay Entertainment Founder. most to point out. the head of Black Isle Fallout 1, 2, Tactics development. Brian Fargo. Who is the Director of the new game know as Wasteland 2. stating: "I am indeed looking into bringing back the game that spawned the Fallout series. Stay tuned..."

to have one company that use to develope Fallout (Obsidian) make a new series with the radicly new game engine. and turn out to be much better in comparrision to Fallout 3, bringing back everything that Bethesda totally messed up on to deliver that "good old fallout" feeling back. then imagin what itd be like from another company (InXile Entertainment) which many members was also part of Black isle who developed the original fallouts WITH the founder director of Interplay in the mix.

InXile Entertainment helped Bethesda in the past in developing a major title called Hunted: The Demon's Forge... so InXile has a good say and foot in the door in asking for the chance after Wateland 2 is released later this year (2014) - to develop a fallout 4 or some side title like Fallout New Vegas was.

...

so. Black Isle Studios has re oped recently. and has on a few of its privious developers. so we have all in all Obsidian Entertainment, InXile Entertainment, and Black Isle Studios. who have people who developed the original fallouts....

why am i so consentrated on the original people? because its how many of the developers are the very DEFFINITION of what fallout use to be. only THEY can add what others fail to bring. i know it was Bethesda'ss first time developing a Fallout in Fallout 3. but there was just soo much that was wrong with detail that we who have loved the originals can easily point out. the FPS is sweet. but im talking about things such as things relating to the Enclave. the Brotherhood. the Outcast. factions in general. the VATS system. armors, guns, rarities, time lapses, criters, conversation detail - tones, encounters, abilites to do more, perks, skills, character backgrounds, etc etc etc. what Obsidian did was just amazing in comparision.

your move Bethesda. i dont care much about graphics in the Fallout universe. their nice in all. but the overall game play. sytle. mechanics. and uniquness. is all iv ever seen in Fallout. thats what us who have played the originals BEFORE Bethesda took the title - know about.

i still play more Fallout 2 and Fallout Tactics then i will ever play Fallout 3 and Fallout new vegas. i currently have 913 hours recorded on steam of playing Fallout New Vegas. i wish for a good new fallout. in order to raise that possibility there should be an original development team or atleast part of one, at the helm of its creation.

doing this will ease alot of people. it will be a better game. and will cut atleast 2 years off of inbetween developing a title.

sorry if my english spelling isnt 100%

So you want Fallout 4 to be made by the makers of the originals?

EDIT: Nothing wrong with that I just didn't understand if this was question or statement or not. Also if you're trying to figure out why a company is doing something, 9/10 times money is the answer

What you forget about Bethesda that there isn't one company with this name. Bethesda Game Studios is the developer of the TES (single player) series and newer Fallout games. Bethesda Softworks is a publisher who publish games from Bethesda Game Studios and other Studios. All of them are owned by Zenimax (which also owns more studios).

About Interplay: Don't mix up Interplay with what they are now and what they where. As the french have taken over Interplay (around 2000) the whole problem with Fallout and alienating their own studios started. There is a reason why the company of Brian Fargo is called InXile (it's a pun on how he was treated by the new management).

The result of new Interplays doing is what we have now. All good developers that we wish for have made their own studio (Obsidian, InXile) or gone to another one. The two people that where left there made a ton of promises but never showed anything substential. The new Black Isle (made by the same Interplay crew)? Did you see what they did with their strange Kickstarter (I know it wasn't Kckstarter, it was a service where they can keep the money even if they don't deliver, which they didn't).

Sorry I lost every respect that I had for these people.

A big coloberation is nearly impossible now after what has happend. Everyone has to make money and earn a living.

I think Bethesda's descision to ask Obsidian to make NV was a great one and a true service for us old fans of the franchise because most of the old developers from FO2 went there. Also it helped to fill the waiting gap.

Not sure what the future will bring us.

But I see a lot of respect for the franchise by Bethesda. In contrary to new Interplay (maker of POS, cancelling Van Buren, failed at Project V13, false kickstarter, ...) and I gladly wait 4 years for a game if its worth it.

Bethesda is going to do what it wants. It seems to take them about 5 to 6 years between titles. Whether they outsourced the title to another company or did it themselves, it would no doubt still take about the same amount of time. And this part is just my personal opinion, but I think more time between titles and 1 developer control is a better thing for the series than saturating the market with a dozen different games in a dozen slightly different versions of the Fallout universe. I love the games and would love to see another title sooner rather than later too, but I'd rather it be good when it comes along than be lackluster and buggier than normal because it was rushed or outsourced and rushed.

EDIT - And opinions on this are a dime a dozen and typically start debates, but I personally preferred Fallout 3 over New Vegas. I honestly could have lived without New Vegas entirely, with the exception of the Old World Blues DLC.

They put 5-6 years into each of their titles, because they want to give all their games everything they've got.

First off Keller, you should get the business structure correct. Bethesda Softworks is a publisher and only a publisher. Bethesda Game Studios is a developer and only a developer. They are two separate entities, both owned by Zenimax Media. Zenimax also owns some other developers, namely Zenimax Online, id Sofware, Arkane, MachineGames, Tango Gameworks, and Battlecry Studios. Those are all developers and only developers. Bethesda Softworks publishes all of the games developed by this group. Also, Zenimax Media is a privately held corporation and, to my knowledge, has never publicly released a financial statement, so any estimate of the company's worth is strictly guesswork.

Having that info wrong will damage the credibility of your entire post. I don't have a lot of problem with the rest of your post, but that's just opinion.

Welcome to the forum.
