If you're covering modding weapons I would highlight the somewhat hidden relation that Scopes have to Action Points, that is if you want to use less AP in VATS, than remove scopes. You could show a demo of how many shots you could get off with a reflex vs a medium scope or something like that.
As for settlement building, there are many difficult things, but wiring is the hardest. When I first started I couldn't understand why I couldnt string a wire from the lake up to sanctuary. So simple things like explaining electric posts (or whatever they're called) would be helpful. Then for lighting rooms, its completely non obvious how to do this. A good demo might start with a generator and then set up a fresh building, make the generator sufficiently far away that the line goes red, so you have to build a post in the middle. Than show setting up lights in your building. And lastly traps, put a bunch of traps around the building. I still don't know how to use traps. Someone said to use a terminal so they don't just run out when you connect them, but that didn't work for me. Guess I'll need to hit up youtube. And now we've come full circle.
but the advice I gave was mostly for high level/unnecessary settlement stuff
When you are starting out the game, commands like equipping a settler, or moving settlers from settlement to settlement are not necessarily obvious. I think commanding them is covered by Sturges' tutorial, but the fact that if you highlight them it highlights there assigned work area(s) was something I had to discover. I would spend some time on simple settler setup stuff, if you're trying to cover all the bases.
1. Tell people how to rotate object in build mode
2. Tell people how they can get oil, aluminum, wood, copper and acid.
Also tell people where enemies are spawned in each settlement attack/defense.
For example, nobody attacks from the main bridge in Sanctuary. There are 3 spawn points in Sanctuary and it gets closer to the work bench the later you get there.
The most important part you should highlight is to not play FO4 and go back to NV if you want a good game.
Hey.
1. Do not ruin someone else`s thread with no legit input
2. At least provide the reason why FNV is better for you.
3. Why are you in FO4 forum?
I would include this tip in your guide.
How to fix the leaky roofs of the Sanctuary roofs. I came across this https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yF-tUy8I29M before I started my 3rd play-through and it made placing new roofs in the Sanctuary houses so, so easy.
Now, the maker of that video goes about it a bit too complicated. All you really need is a welcome mat, one wall panel and then place the roof panels. Average roof panels I used for a house is 3 X 5 (3 along the width and 5 across the length). There is no need to lay a floor.
