49 hours in and nothing but repeatable quests now. I spent a couple of hours exploring today and came across one quest. This is forcing me to make a new character so i can try different story line faction.
but 49 hours!!!
This saddens me.

99.5hs today and still didnt finish the main quest do to exploring or side quest.
So incrise the dificulty or stop complaining.
Last time i check i finish the Witcher 3 on easy in 34hs. And Batman AK on easy in 12hs. soo yeah 49hs isnt bad.
I've got over 80 hrs into it and haven't finished the main quest or joined the BOS. Just been doing side quests, exploring, working on settlements.
Im on survival mode.
Finished the main quest, i chose minute men.
Built all my settlements up
Now there are just repeatable quests.
I leveled up local leader early, built a level 4 weapons vendor and purchased a gauss rifle early in the game. Sneak attack deathclaw 2 shots to kill on survival.
Yeah, I'm at 77 hours and I'm still not done with the main quest. Don't complain because you don't want to go out there and find the other quests or explore the map.
You finished the main quest too quickly. If you take your time more side quests are available to you and you can do more missions for each factions.
Besides, starting another playthrough isnt the end of the world, because the decisions you make early in the game change what side missions you can do. So as long as you change up how you play slightly, it will be a relatively different experience.
ive explored pretty much every where. want me to screen shot my map?
You finished the MQ too early I think. Unlike TES, the MQ here unlocks and locks other quests (mostly faction quests). I am 120 hours in and still have a lot to do.
Basically, to fully complete the game you have two methods:
1. Don't rush through the MQ but each time you complete a quest of the main questline, delay the next one while you do faction quests and explore. When the time to make a choice comes, make a hard save and reload it three times to see all that the game has to offer
2. Have four playthroughs, one character for each faction
BGS games are not about quests. The games are not short, including FO4, because it doesn't matter if you do any quests at all. "Completing a BGS game" means that you have seen every single thing the game has to offer. No way have you done this in 48 hours when the lead producer still found things after over 400 hours.
i've been playing everyday since launch and i have barely started the main quest, i've been more focused on exploring, doing the side quests and settlement building.
Now I wouldnt say the game was too short. But the ending? The hell! The Institute ending was like 2 minutes and didnt give any kinda hint what happened or the effects of what you did had on the wasteland. I honestly feel a little cheated by this. There should have been more of a ending there.
You guys did fantastic with the game, and failed on the ending. Matter of fact I think you guys should expand the endings further. There are consequences to all our actions. We should know what they were. Every Fallout game has done this, save this one.
FO3 did not do it. There you got something else: you saw the consequences first hand in a DLC. It was not much though as you did not have many different endings in FO3.
Seeing as FO4 has four different endings, a DLC like Broken Steel would be much better than some ending slide IMO.
I'm 415% happier with the length of Fallout 4 than I am with any game that takes only 12 hours to complete.
Be aware that even when quest start repeating it does not mean there are no more new ones to be had. I must have done a dozen repeat quest for preston and tonight he FINALLY gave me a new one for another settlement. Not saying they don't run out of new quest to give, but it seems the scripting may be screwed up.
It sounds like you rushed through the game as fast as possible....I have played the game for four hours and finally made it to Sanctuary Hills to go home....This is the problem with treating the game as like a "Shooter" vs as like a "Role Player", the "Shooter" person plays as fast as possible vs the "Role Player" takes a more deliberate measured pace of playthrough....Bethesda said in an interview that one of there playthroughs has lasted 400 hours, I myself will see if I can make the game last that long....hahaha
70hours and I've only just reached Diamond City. Seems plenty long to me.
Even then, forty hours is good for a game considering a lot of AAA games barely deliver ten.
I am surprised that games that take 50 hours to complete are considered short now.
Ugh, people need to stop parroting the "We're finding new stuff after 400 hours!" nonsense.
You realize developers have to market a game right? You're essentially talking about a burger, and when the person goes "Man, I don't like this burger" going "but it has hickory smoked deliciousness!" like a corporate goober.
No, no he's saying he finished the burger and they're telling him there are still fries and a milkshake.
