fallout trilogy pack

Hold on... hold on...
Did you tried pressing Alt+Tab?

Pressing Alt+Tab while in the game will take you back to windows press it a second time (or as many times needed-depending on the programs you have open) to get back to the game - that fixes the problem for me (at least for some time - but if it happens again later do the Alt+Tab routine again, it only takes a second)

same here. you have the same problem as me?

Get a Flash drive ~any will do these days.

Copy the entire CD to the Flash Drive, and follow these instructions...

thank you, ill see what i can do, the one thing that is always a problem is money though, and im not quite sure why the trilogy pack would be released if many people would encounter a similar problem such as mine.

Yes I did have that problem (bright colored pixels appearing all over the place right?)
It's a very common problem in fact.
Alt+Tab worked perfectly for me though... did you try it?
As I said it's a temporary solution, the problem sometimes reappears within seconds but most often everything will work fine for a good while... but even if it does reappear, just use Alt+Tab twice again, it will switch back on within the same second and it's likely to bother you no matter how many times you'll have to do it.

i know. brightly colored pixels, and discoloration. for example, when i watch the introduction movie, the elder in fallout 2 is purple, green, red and and a mix of colors. and the black and white slides have blue and all kinds of discoloration. is that what you mean?

Exactly that. (+ it's impossible to read almost anything in character creation)
There must be 2 or 3 more threads about this exact problem in the first couple of pages here - it's a very common problem.

how do people play these games then? its a pain. theres no settings to put it on, or why would such a problematic pack be released in a value pack.

Old games often are problematic in modern systems.
Hey... read http://www.justadventure.com/articles/HateComputerGames/WhatIHateComputerGames.shtm about it... it's not very enlightening but it's pretty fun.
Though I admit it made me feel sad for the poor chap by the end :(

but:
Did you try the Alt+Tab mate ;)

ill try it, but i like watching the intro, and i cant in its current state, i read the article. lol. i can relate to that guy. stuff from 1994 are basically ancient to me anyway. i was born that year. so really, using electronics from a decade ago are impossible.

Alt+Tab will probably not stop the intro - if you do it fast you'll just miss a fraction of a second of it.

IIRC you can choose to watch the intro again from the main menu.
So just skip the intro altogether, do the Alt+Tab routine and then select to watch it.

It's the same thing I suppose... Alt+Tab is just faster and less of a hassle.
Come on mate... that's trivial... if it works it works - give it a shot and if it doesn't work you can start thinking for more complicated solutions.

on fallout 1, it works well, in fallout 2, it takes several tries.

OK... sometimes it will do that - especially in the main menu, for some reason.
Try 'changing' the screen - ie load your game first and use Alt+Tab then.
If you're in the game bring up the character screen or the pip-boy or enter dialog with an NPC and use it then etc.
(though it shouldn't happen too often when you are in the game world)
It really shouldn't be too much of a trouble once you get used to it.
