So, I just bought the Fallout Trilogy and tried to play it, but the game's graphics were acting screwy with rainbow-like shading and it only gets worse. Same for Fallout 2 and Tactics. Any ideas on how to fix this major problem?

As far as the graphics - that's a pretty well-known bug. I believe there might be other solutions out there (chances are someone will post them, here.) But what's always worked for me quite well is alt-tab to go back to your desktop, and then alt-tabbing back to the game. This generally refreshes the graphics, and should get them back to normal. (Sometimes takes a couple of tries to get it, however...)

Try getting the hi res patch.
