I'm hyped as [censored]. I've enjoyed every Beth game to date.

Seems like they're going for more of a Mass Effect style of rpg with this one, and I love that about it.

Well at least ive got Mad Max & 7 Days to Die to get me through the next few weeks.

I wouldn't say I'm hyped, but I am excited to finally get this game. The lack of information until May of this year really irked me and made me want to know if they were even working or thinking about a sequel. Now that we all know its coming, I kind of relaxed a little. That it was coming this year was a bonus. At my age, 48, time goes by pretty quickly. To me it seems like E3 was yesterday!

Why is there no delete post option! Damn it that option is useful when you reply to something on the first page that is no longer relative!

I presume this is sarcasm, but I know some people have those views.

From my perspective,

• the greatly improved perks/character system
• the voiced protagonist(s) among 111k lines of dialogue
• greater focus on story

Looks to me like the finest entry in the series to date.

I can't say not feeling hype is impossible to understand because we have different reactions,

but the consensus reaction I'm seeing is 'hype train...'

But it's not even out yet...

For me *DRAGONSSSSSSSSSSS!!!!!!!!!!!!!11* got really old.. Really fast. It gets old in game too.. I avoid the main quest as much as I can. Never ending dragons fighting and killing non replaceable npc's and merchants ... just rolling my eyes.

I am glad they are not doing that this time.

Oh, and don't forget that whole voiced protagonist thing. Nope, can't forget that.

Actually though, with the exception of the voiced protagonist I like the changes I've seen. The new skill system will rock and actually provide me with some incentive to try characters in replays that differ significantly from the previous one. While I loved the FO3 and New Vegas and have replayed both games multiple times, there was sadly little difference between by characters from game to game once you looked past the face.

I'll be perfectly honest, I was hyped for quite awhile. But I'm guessing all the radio silence for so long and what I've seen and heard, eh. Then I started playing shadowruns and fell in love with a whole new setting that now I'm really only excited and hyped about cyberpunk 2077 when ever it finally releases.

I think Bethesda needs to quit taking the easy path and make something truly unique or out there instead of playing it safe tbh.

I'm looking forward to it and enjoying the lack of hype (at least, what I've seen... I don't watch TV and I block ads on PC so maybe I'm missing stuff).

Hype is also not free. To attempt its generation requires funds and time. Perhaps this time around Beth is attempting a different spending strategy. Perhaps they legitimately believe there's enough nascent interest in a new Fallout title that they don't have to apply the same "big and loud" strategy as Skyrim.

Well Bethesda has tried a few new things. A TES MMO, Dishonored, Horror (The Evil Within), and Battlecry (whatever that is), etc. Some worked some, not so much. TBH though I'm only interested in their open world games, TES and FO. If they were to make a whole new franchise that's open world that would be cool. BTW I loved Shadowrun:Dragonfall and I'm not even into Tech/Magic mix games.

All i can say is... you are lucky! I have been on the same situation before. I dont remember what game it was but everyone was hyped and i was sick for everyone talking about it. Then when i got the game out of the boredom and tried it, i suddenly knew what everyone were talking about! And i felt so hyped about it and played it for days to come.

So, its a good thing that you dont suffer the waiting like all of us. And, im sure when you finially get to F4, you will have amazing time.

Right now i havent played Witcher 3, i lost my gpu and just cant afford to replace it right now... so i am probably only Witcher fan who has not played it yet... But, i figure i am better for it. All of the bug fixes and dlc and expansions will be out when i will be able to play it... THe same will be for F4, i probably wont have new gpu by the release day... Kids and family is priority right now But, when i finally can put some 500€ for new gpu, i will have too many good games to play!

My hype train has no brakes, and I can't stop fueling the fires. I'm out of my skull with excitement for FO4.

If the hype isn't there for you then just play it and enjoy it for what it is. From your purchase descriptions it sounds like you are easy to please. Don't take that as a bad thing. It is good that you get so much enjoyment out of a diverse field. My view differs in that I think Bethesda is now one of Two developers worth 60 bones up front for the purchase. Everyone else falls woefully short. Including CDProjekt. W3 was a great game but still can't match a Fallout or TES. It's really GTA with a fantasy bent in terms of design.

They have released a broad idea of what F4 is and what is new to the Bethesda open world series. So far I think a looks great when you stop and actually think about what might be possible and the slew of what actually is possible. Look on the bright side. You may just pick up F4 and be hyped to get home and play it day after day and not just after day 1. In my opinion that is a far better experience.

Has the OP considered the possibility that he is an android but does not know it? I believe that androids are incapable of certain emotions such as hype.

You shouldn't be hyped, people are so easily convinced that a new bethesda game means it will be a great game.

I doubt FO4 will be very refreshing...expect a game much like Skyrim in terms of design.

Small open world, very dens populated with dungeons very few meaningful npcs. A couple of tiny towns the size of Megaton, where half the characters are named ""settler"..etc.

Yea don't get hyped.

I'm a Todd Howard fan. I think he's one of the few folks in the industry - Ken Levine is another one for me - that I could listen to all day. He always has something interesting to say. I remember really liking the Skyrim narrated gameplay demo. I forget how long it was, but it struck me as being longer than the Fallout 4 E3 demo. Or maybe it's just that the Fallout 4 demo was more about introducing lots of individual things, whereas the Skyrim one was more continuous gameplay. Anyway, I don't like to see too much of a game before it releases, but if there isn't stuff out there, that choice doesn't exist. I had no complaints about the hype train of Skyrim. I would rather there be more hype, and then I can choose how much I want to see before the game releases.
