Fallout Universe Google Map!

Post » Tue Dec 01, 2015 9:18 am

The subtitle for the map is "All locations in the Fallout series of games"...pretty interesting. Maps are a great way to learn the Fallout history.

Maybe this is a collaborative map that can be modified in greater detail? I do not see why it shouldn't be.

Nice map, but its missing places like Erie, Great Lanta, The Broken Banks. And others, like The Den, Broken Hills, Shady Sand, and Vault 15, are in the totally wrong spots.

I've made a map of the post-war Fallout world myself once or twice

Places like New Canaan, and several towns from Tactics, aren't marked on my map becuase they were destoryed, and thus, no one lives there anymore that we know of.

I see it's not share-able, but it would be nice to know who created it. We could make it a collaborative base map. Then everyone and their grandma could add to it. I might have one source of contact, so I'll try and see what they want to do with it.

Here's a few tips, first you should create new layers as you'll have more power to add boundaries. You can also assign new icons to the map markers to indicate the importance of the location capitals or historic buildings and such. There is also a really cool map that was made by DeusIX http://deusix.deviantart.com/art/World-of-Fallout-2271-2282-332246797?q=favby%3AVATROU%2F63343025&qo=55

Very good and highly informative.

One point though, Vault 111 is much closer to Sanctuary Hills, in fact they're actually both built on the same plot of land. The bridge we see in the footage looks to be the one crossing the Concord River on Monument Street, and the Monument has been moved to the South-East side of the bridge. This would place Sanctuary Hills just across the bridge to the North, and Vault 111 a little further North-West. I originally thought that Vault 111 was located at the circular driveway on Cedar Way, but that would place it a little too far away from the river.

Hope that helps

EDIT: not sure if this map was created by the OP, I haven't had much sleep lol!

I would be interested to know how anyone is capable of pinpointing a Fallout 4 location on a map such as Sanctuary Hills or Vault 111, when their location (in relation to the rest of Greater Boston) is undisclosed?? I'm only being nitpicky because someone felt at liberty to plug it onto a map of Massachusetts. Anyhow, I vote we all get on this project and create a community Fallout map. :fallout:

Awesome! I do all of that in Google Maps & Google Earth already! This needs to be the new Fallout maps thread!

the problem with converting Fallout 3 map to real world maps is they did A LOT of modifying, for example the Real world Springfield is well south of Washington, Fairfax should be basically south of where it is in the game, the Real world Raven rock is well north of where its depicted in game (literally its in Pennsylvania) (incidentally the much closer Mount Weather complex that actualy kind of resembles the entrance to Raven rock is literally off the map to the north west.

ok I am calming down now.

Seriously, I just cussed myself out. Twice

a few points

1 we dont know Just how changed the Map is from the real world, As I mentioned earlyer they made some fairly hefty changes to the Fallout 3 map, for whatever reason, we have no reason to think that they did not do the same here.

2. While we may be looking at whats supposed to be the real thing in game, unfortunately it may also be a replica built into a park as part of a planed suburbia community.

3, for that matter Henderson Field may not be where it is in our real world, it may be someplace else entirely.

Looking at the E3 footage, as well as using real-world references, we can see a number of clues. Basically, When we look out of the protagonist's front door, we are facing South-East. The bridge crossing the river is also facing the same direction (although the Minute Man Monument has been moved as it is on the wrong side of the river and facing the wrong direction). The real world bridge I mentioned above would fit exactly with the one we see in-game. Also, the Red Rocket garage can be seen in the background just South-East of Sanctuary Hills. Later, when we are on-board a vertibird, we can see the town of Concord behind the garage, also to the South-East. Using these and other clues, we can build a fairly accurate picture of where the locations should be

EDIT: I have discussed this more fully in a number of my threads, including http://www.gamesas.com/topic/1524336-map-size-merged-topics one.
