Fallout used to let you be gay, Fallout 4 doesn't.

because that is the story they wanted to tell, and in that story, it was a heterosixual couple, which BTW, is by and far the MASSIVE Majorority of people, and since it is likely most of the writers are Hetero, it means that they know how to write that better.

Are people going to get mad any ANY game or story or movie that shows a heterosixual couple now?

Are we playing the same game?!? Because as far as I know, many player/gaming reviews since FO4 came out have confirmed your character AND NPC companions are bisixual. You can romance Piper etc. as a female. Or sleep with Preston as a male PC provided your relationship with them is sufficiently high enough.

That being said, the title of the thread is suspiciously reeking of flame and troll bait.....

that is because it clearly is, Fallout has NEVER had any kind of leaning, it has never really had ROMANCE in general of any kind, and in Fallout 3 and before, they did not allow you to take the perks for the same six, only New vegas did, so if anything, only new vegas allowed that, and in this game, it matters very little, as the perk has no dialogue anymore, just increases the chance to persuade and a tiny bit of damage, like it matters though, since it makes little sense for EVERYONE in the wasteland to be Bi.

I can see the Fox News banner now: “SJW HIJACKS THE BETHESDA FORUMS!!! THANKS OBAMA!!!!”

:P

But at any rate, I do agree with those who don't like how the prologue went down. Even as a heterosixual guy, I'm put off by it because no matter what I do, no matter how I play my character, she is always going to be the widowed mother of a kidnapped child. At one point, she had a husband and was living in the suburbs. There were, like, hundreds of ways of introducing the plot of a kidnapped kid without forcing this backstory onto us:

Here are two I've come up with just now:
? We're a child of the Wasteland and we see our elder sister/brother/friend taken from us. That elder sister/brother/friend is fully customizable just like us, and she/she was the other choice of a protagonist. I'll let you ruminate on the image of a fifteen-year-old wielding a fatman as he/she takes down a Deathclaw.

? We are a man/woman who lives alone in pre-War America building a life for ourselves. We are friends with a young mother of an infant child. We both enter Vault 111, get frozen and basically everything plays out the same; the only difference is that the young mother is not related to us at all and we have to rescue the baby for her sake.

See? And I managed to do it without forcing a sixuality onto the protagonist. That way, anyone (gay or not) can play a gay character without having to do mental gymnastics and pretending the prologue didn't happen and pretend to ignore it whenever the game reminds us of how we were married to our husband/wife.

I don't think it's just any game. If this was Uncharted people wouldn't complain that Nathan Drake is heterosixual.

Personally we beaten the horse to death and to be honest I don't think it's a huge deal. But I understand how it can be annoying to LGBT gamers.

I think you are bit confused. The OP has 1 post on this site and it consists of one sentence.

Gay marriage is legal now in the U.S. There's no reason to have homosixuality everywhere you look now. It was an agenda for years to shift public opinion. It's clearly been shifted enough as gay marriage is now legal. Now we should all be able to go on with our lives and writers can write freely about whatever they want, tell whatever story they want, without worrying about what group doesn't feel included. Amiright? I'm tired of seeing it everywhere like I get tired of hearing the same song over and over. Yep, nice song. Thanks for writing it. Pardon me for being tired of it. Thanks.

Have you ever run across a group known as the Society for Creative Anachronism? It is a group dedicated to, "recreating the Middle Ages, not as they were, but as they should have been."

The Fallout universe is a little like that. It is not based on 1950's culture but based on a future that a 1950's culture would have imagined. 2077 in the Fallout universe is NOT 'Ozzie and Harriet' it is more like the 'Jetsons'.

Please leave romance out of future fallout games.

I don't want real life politics in game thanks.

It ruins all the fun.

I don't think it's so much romance. If the LW or Courier were defined as straight/Bi/Gay I think people would have complained.

Romance was technically in Skyrim and people didn't complain remember.

Edit- Also pretty much what Summer said.

I stand corrected. Souljacker kinda took up the torch and for some reason I equated him(her?) with the OP. My mistake.

You see what happens when you put romance in your games, Bethesda? It means [censored] all regarding the actual game. Maybe just drop it going forward. No six for anyone!

I once walked in a dark alley only to get beat up by a gang of 5 gay guys 4 years ago. Ended up at the hospital for 4 days.

I don't care about six and romance in games. For me they mean little. I never cared about mods that add 18+ content to the game. It's ok to be part of the game. I liked Serana in Skyrim for some time but then she became bad weather report.

I tried playing Tomb Raider once, but i just couldn't change Lara over to Lars, and gave up. I know its not quite the same premise, but this sort of feels equally stupid.

I'm still pissed with the Witcher. I didn't want gruff Geralt. I wanted Geralta who doesn't believe in using violence to solve problems. Oh, and she also romances Dandelion

And they call that an RPG game...yeah, sure.
