Fallout 2 - I was blind and shall be enlightened

I never played Fallout 2 before. I read a bit about the story and that's it. Many people had bad things to say about it and the general style of the first two games already gives me a hard time enjoying them.

Now I began.

I'm just in Klamath and the moment the game catched me was when a stupid drunkard at the town's entrance called himself 'town greeter' and wanted a fee for this 'service'. Ha! That was a great idea and convinced me to play further.

What hooked you?

Not necessary the best part of the game, but i recall entering Vault City as one of the early moments you feel entering a new dimension.

A totally dystopian society that you could probably qualify as morally wrong, which greets you nicely and (reluctantly) help you in your quest.

There is also New Reno itself that feels a game within the game, thanks to the ton of quests there. (IMO)

Then, some of the companions are amongs the best of the séries. (tied with FoNV)
