Fallout 1 - When/how does time pass?

Post » Fri May 27, 2011 5:05 pm

I know that time passes when travelling on the map, but does time pass (days etc) when in towns?

eg. so its possible to leave my character afk in Shady Sands for a while and come back to find that 5 days have passed?

Time passes in town as well, but really, really slow. You can leave your character for a while, but it won't be 5 days if you stay away for 1 whole hour.

If you want to pass time in town, the pipboy can do that for you.

The time scale in towns is either 1:1 or very close to it.

Time also passes when you travel form place to place on the map. Time will fly by if you just go around and explore. And yes, the PipBoy can also make you wait/rest. And when in a location I do believe it uses real time.
